Line from panel to generator 3 feet. ETA: thanks for the details. I’ve watched several videos but I don’t do electrical except maybe replace a socket. A repair man died while repairing an A/C next door when I was a kid so I’ve always been wary.

If you are in doubt be safe. Get the professional. No shame in that ever. There are no second chances if you get hung up.
I wasn't trying to pressure you simply kind of giving you a rundown of what to expect.
Some people will use the eve of the house to keep the generator out of the weather.
Don't due that due to the exhaust...
You can build a little pvc cover with a tarp to place over it and zip tie it in place if you need. You can even make it to where it's collapsible.
