My guy. There’s no way a loss to Southern holds as much weight as a win against Texas. These don’t negate each other.

LSU is top 30 in the country, as is usually the case with teams 8-10 in the SEC. Unfortunately, those other 7-9 teams are usually in the top 25.

As there usually is, there will be at least one “mediocre” SEC team that takes their regional.

That has no bearing for any team for the next month and you know it

Who is shitting on Jay? He’s lobbying for his team which is what all coaches should do. I think he could’ve done it in a way that didn’t sound so outlandish that’s all.

It kind of does though, but okay here’s to hoping they do something they haven’t shown over the course of 30 games!

A single game in February is pretty useless at this point no matter who the opponent is. Those games are good early season tests and can help your RPI but that’s about it.

There isn’t a regional host in the country that will be happy to see LSU come in as their 3 seed.

That's great, they still don't wan't to potentially have to face Luke Holman in the winners bracket game... i.e. the most important game in a regional.

Cool. So it’s like every season where teams end up losing to a 3 seeded SEC team in regionals?

I'd guess we are a top 25 team in the country, maybe top 20. The trouble is we will be seeded #11 in the SEC, a 14-team conference.

And we still have to hit their guy. Holman isn’t Skenes. He’s pretty good and that’s great!

Ok

And we won't be facing a Skenes either.

We've won the majority of our Holman and Jump stats lately, so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. The issue with this team is what happens once we get to a third game, that wouldn't be the issue for the hypothetical that was posted.

No the issue is this team is not prolific enough offensively to even guarantee it wins the opening game but okay whatever I screwed up even assuming it jumps into a winners bracket

Commas are your friend.

And, you're missing the point. Not many three seeds will have a top two in their rotation like Jump and Holman. They may have one, but not two. Also, not many three seeds will have a power threat like Tommy White.

No one is by any means saying we are definitely going to go into someone's regional and win, but top-end talent-wise, we'll stack up better than most other three-seeds.
