Why would you be scared of coyotes?

Being 6 feet in a tree > on the ground with 8 or so coyotes hauling arse by me. Just saying....

You fight like a girl!
j/k
If I was 14 and in that tree alone, I'd be worried also.

We used to go up on top of a big hill at our land that we called hoot owl hill and hoot at the owls. Grown ups would drink kids would play. It was a big cleared off area up there. Once when I was young, I wanted to hoot like the adults, and apparently my pre-pubescent hoot sounded more like a rabbit in distress because I called in a pack of yotes. Scared me shitless.

Didn;t know your superhuman ability was to 'summon coyotes', huh.

Mine is 'summoning ants'....everywhere I've ever lived, ants followed. Why?

If 3 is a pack, then yes. They were pups and on the levee in Harahan in the 5:30 AM area.

I hope you held on tight because she was probably tensed up pretty good...

When I was 16, my uncle and I set up a blind in front of a feeder just before dusk. No deer came thru, only a shitload of hogs. There were a bunch of little baby pigs with them, and as it grew closer to dark we decided to kill as many hogs as we could. Right before we were about to open fire, a grey blur caught our eye, as it circled the hog litter. We put the guns down and watched for a minute as the blur cirlced the pack again and we noticed it was a coyote. We thought it was only one as it circled again a third time and had the grown sows going crazy. Then out of nowhere another coyote came out of nowhere (as the grown hogs were distracted by the first coyote) and scooped up one of the baby boars and took off just as quickly, with the pig squeeling the whole way. I'll never forget that, mother nature sure is amazing

I've seen 2 packs. One in OK, the first pack I'd seen. Blazed 3, kind of made me a little nervous, but in hindsight, they were no threat. The next pack was 2 years ago, Bowhunting in AR. Saw a large pack, that came in and disappeared in a creek bottom. There were some fighting and gnashing, but was out of view(except when they were coming and going). Got my brother, and we checked out the area later that night, and they had a deer carcass in the creek bottom. I really think that both daylight encounters with large packs were both involving disposed deer carcasses.

Heard them yipping and barking at night when the whole pack catches something.

Have only seen a pack during the daytime once. About 5 of them.

Once I saw two running together and all the other times have been singles.
