Mil 16 on was straight hell. At mile 23 one of the aid stations said they could physically see my calves locking up

Dude, so like wtf is up with that hill at mile 20/21?!?! It literally looks like the race took you into a canyon starting at 16-17 to destroy your hamstrings only to come out of the canyon at 20-21 and destroy your quads... That's brutal

**I will still take a late race hill to 4 huge hills before mile 10...**

I wish I could start my revenge tour, but unfortunately I signed up for a 100 miler.

I will pick my marathons MUCH better next year. I'm looking at a few beach marathons in Jan / Feb or something like Grandma's and I'm going to try to get into CIM or Chicago for the Fall.

Yea it’s a brutal stretch. By that point I was dead anyway so I didnt notice it too much but a lot of people were saying they suffered through it. My bigger gripe is the way the event was handled. Definitely geared to the half. When the two races split off it went from high energy excitement for 6/7 miles to dead silence for 15. They had aid stations still but no cheer sections, no bands, nothing. Also when the two races converged they had cones up dividing the races which was good but you had to go around all of the half runners to get to the aid stations up there. It was just a cluster.

The focus on the bombing made the pre race stuff cool but I was not a fan of the full.

Also annoyed me there was no rhyme or reason to where the aid stations where. Grandmas it’s every two miles on the nose until you get to 18 and then it’s every mile. This they were just randomly put up.

Don’t get me wrong none of this affected my race or anything. It just wasn’t as well thought out as I think a race going on year 24 should be.
