You realize that State nor Ole Miss have flown the state flag for several years due to this issue that you say they didn't "cave" to.
ETA Also all racist, historical, whatever aside "From Dixie With Love" was a great tune musically and I hated it when OM decided to ban it...although I do understand it I suppose.

Will Louisiana have to change the name of it's state? After all, the state is named after King Louis XIV, who created and protected French colonies utilizing slaves.
And what about the city of New Orleans? It was a key part of the French slave market as it allowed France access to the Caribbean Islands slave markets?

Well the flag is coming down. No way it survives this storm. BLM wokeness, NCAA and SEC pressure, even conservative whites here are in love with the new Stennis flag (which is ugly); Gulfport's local government already took it down.

Whether you believe its overblown or not, the bottom line is that the State absolutely will have to capitulate if they ever want to see competitive football, basketball, track, etc etc teams from Ole Miss or Miss St.
This will absolutely affect recruiting. With social media and this generation of athlete, those schools will not be able to continue to attract high caliber guys without changes to the State.
