It’s a golf board talking about golf. Should it be moved? And you have given your fair share of opinions of what the pga tour should and shouldn’t to so consider it rich coming from you

Yes, if it means the best players in the world don't play each other.

Everyone is hating on the course, but a bunch of pga tour courses would be $70 on golfnow if they didn't have tour money in maintenance and a brand based on the tour going there. TPC Scottsdale, TPC Louisiana, Memorial, PGA National, and Silverado are hardly great golf courses.

Those courses aren’t hosting the Tour Championship.

And Memorial Park and PGA National are extremely good golf courses well above Bolingbrook

The PGA and their buddies have direct control over that

They need to figure out how to come together, but this saying “it’s the PGA guys fault” is objectively hilarious when it’s the LIV guys that caused the entire split.

I am shocked they are playing there. I would practice on their driving range all the time. The course certainly isn’t terrible but this is bizarre any way you look at it.

I will give them credit tho they have kept their prices reasonable. I can’t play a muni in NJ for $75

An average muni course with a $75 tee time

I wouldn't say that makes a course terrible. Memorial averages around $75 if you merge resident and non resident fees, and that one seems to be universally praised by the podcasts I listen to. Having said that, I know nothing about Bolingbrook.

I have played it a few times. It's decent enough, but I would have never imagined that it would be selected to host a tournament for a major international tour. Apparently, Rich Harvest Farms basically told them to go shite in a hat.

There are 10 - 15 better publicly-accessible courses in Chicago alone, nevermind the 15 or so world-class private clubs in the area.

I will say that I bet the crowd will be pretty solid there.

Which tour won't allow players from the other to play on their tour?

Could PGA players come over and play on LIV if the PGA allowed it? I legit have no idea. I don’t think they’d be able to kick out any guys who are currently on teams but not sure of that.

LIV just makes it up as they go, so I’m sure they’d just add teams or something

You and OKTiger are the same way on the opposite end of the spectrum. If the Saudis took a shite on a tee box and called it a course you’d claim it was widely successful

I actually agree with pride on this one. Course is subpar and I just think they’re wasting their time establishing a foothold in the US. Keep one or two events and lean into the international game. It’s embarrassing to see this caliber of field play tracks like this.

I remember LIV Boston and LIV Tulsa being successful and then they just abandoned those tournaments for bigger cities. We’ll see how Houston and Nashville goes

At the end of the day, it’s a free market and the players are independent contractors. If the PGAT leadership weren’t arrogant pricks, and thought they just could bully their way to maintain their monopoly on the sport, this would have never happened.

The fact people really believe the “PGAT are the good guys” in this mess never ceases to make me laugh

This independent contractor thing is ridiculous. They're not "independent". They have by-laws, they have to ask for releases to play tournaments that occur the same week as PGA Tour tournaments, they're paid a pension.

You can claim that until you’re red in the face but, legally, they are independent contractors. One of the most clear distinctions between PGAT and LIV
