Its the old Denham Springs Country Club before Pards took it over. Has anyone in the Baton Rouge area played here?

I play here, alot....... like alot alot. The greens are shite, they are pop ups, its a goat ranch, no structure for tee times, if it rains be prepared to be cart path only for like 4 days, its just bad all the way around.......

But i absolutely love it lol. The fairways are tight so its a great place to get some practice in hit fairways. The people that work there are nice. The golfers that play there are usually nice and easy going. I just like it cuz you can go drink some beers, don't have to wear a collared shirt, its just alot more laid back. Not to mention is cheap as hell.

All that being said I love to play nice courses as well, this one is just right by the house and it cheap.

It's not too far from my house as well, and I have never played it. Are there multiple tee boxes for the same hole? so you could play 18 slightly different?

Yea, they have White tees for the front nine and Blue tees for the back nine. There are a number of holes with acouple different tee boxes.

Like i said the greens are shite. they are trying to get them right but no one there is a real greensman. Some of the greens have big bare spots that are sand.

But for a practice course its good. Plus when the time changes they do a Wednesday afternoon nine hole 2 man scramble that is fun.

This is the worst maintained course that I have ever played.

Decent layout though, imo.

Grew up playing it, my grandfather was one of the guys that got it started back in the day..

It was in terrible shape before Pards took it over and I'm glad they did.. But the updating has not gone very quickly at all and yeah it's a pain with no set tee times... But its a little 9 hole goat ranch that i have a soft spot for...

shite is barely golf. I’ll play the glow ball so I don’t have to view the shite turf.

I've been wanting to give it a go. I enjoy playing 9 holes after work when I get off at noon on Fridays, but work a bit closer to city park than I do Denham Springs.

My buddy used to live near it and said it's never been in good shape (that he's seen) but has a fun layout.

City Park is light years better than The Pines. Way better layout

I like city park, but always fun to try something different.

The genius part of city park to me is the first and last hole. Nice easy par 3's. No big hazards, greens aren't surrounded by bunkers etc. I you are someone who goes out looking for the most challenging course possible it might not be for you, but someone wanting a relaxing round of golf it's a brilliant way to start and finish.
