The original Box wasn't "historic" until LSU started winning championships. It was just old and mostly empty.

All this talk of renovations is laughable. Should have been done right the first time. Place is already a dump compared to recent renovations and upgrades to other SEC parks

Dated? Sure. But dump is a bit drastic. The Box is will always be one of those iconic venues in baseball. Full of history and numerous legends that have called it home.

Similar to Tiger Stadium in FB honestly.

Most of the “legends” haven’t played at this stadium.

I feel like Alex Box was outdated as soon as it was completed.

How about they stick a $200 window unit in the bathrooms so they don’t smell like a Tijuana holding cell

The real reason. It is definitely time to do this though. Wish they would expand (& Cover) the diamond deck but doesn’t seem like that’s in the cards

A Needed Change,

Also They need to redo both Baseline seating (1st and 3rd base)

Chairback seats need to be installed. This would Correct the cheap move made by LSU with bleacher seating.

Take care of your Fans as well. (believe me they will add about a $100 donation to each seat)

The intimidator is way too small. It needs to almost as wide as the bleachers there.

Now you’re reaching. Lol

While all of those players you listed are great players and will become legends. You know damn good and well what everyone is inferring to. LSU won 5 of their 7 National Chsmpionships while playing in the old Box. The new Box should have been built much better and with far more visiion than it was.

not really anymore against who we compete with in Baseball

Every SEC west team has a better stadium now that Bama and Auburn redid theirs

Dude didn't even name the best player to ever play in the new box. Guess 2x sec player of the year, golden spikes. Freshman of the year and national champ doesn't constitute a "legend"

Skip built the new Box. It was built to replicate the old box. IMO the new box needs about 50 million in upgrades

It is beyond time to replace the bleachers in left field. Season ticket holders should not be relegated to being sardines. Bringing stadium seats to use only compounds this.

You’re an idiot, they’re all legends. How will they become legends?? It’s not like they can play for us anymore? And don’t tell me legend status is based on what they do in the majors. I guess Furniss isn’t a legend then.

Hurricane, the box is depressing. We had the chance to build a fricking Taj Mahal of college baseball and fumbled it. I hate it.

It really holds up a mirror as to who we are as a fan base. The Box is one of the most up to date, player amenity facilities there is in the country. Not just as a college facility, but an actual baseball facility.

Do the fan amenities match? Absolutely not. The seats aren’t great, the batters eye is more like a batters eyesore and the fence ads are jank.

When you look at everything behind the scenes, however, we are a top 5 facility

The players stuff is top notch and I guess ultimately more important. But man, did we have to build such a dump?

The "rest of that season" for Rice was 6 innings

Rendon's injury also had nothing, at all, to do with the bullpens. His teammate stepped on his ankle/collided with him. It just happened to be in the bullpen area. If that area was all flat surface, the same thing would have happened

Good catch. I guess Andre Champagne just took somebody’s word for it.

That’s today’s journalism though. They do the same thing on 24 hour news channels.

lol.

But let’s throw him a bone. The stadium has held some of the largest crowds in regular season college baseball history.
