Last night was setup for him to breakout of whatever funk he has going. Is he just a headcase at the plate right now?

Started strong last season but hasn’t progressed since. Have no idea what’s wrong. Maybe he’s just not an SEC hitter.

Who knows. But he has limited time to fix it

Maybe Ruddell or brown should have been playing over him or gotten more at bats

Larson has improved steadily down the stretch as well

Yes. He's the Billy Beane of LSU baseball.

He gets in his own head very easily. He knows when he is or isn’t going to swing before the ball even gets to him. At that point, it’s just luck if you even hit it.

Do we need threads constantly shitting on our players? He only batted twice last night. And yes he went 0-2, but one of those was 7 pitch at bat that he hit 385’.

It does seem like he guesses on pitches a lot.

At this point Kling should only be utilized as a defensive replacement.

He tries to pull the ball every pitch. SEC pitchers know how to take advantage of this. Soft and away

If there is an everyday player that is consistently not performing, he is going to get criticized. That isn't specific to baseball or LSU. Right or wrong, that's just how sports and fandom works.

Ruddell has looked awful at the plate every chance he has gotten until he went up against Grambling 10th and 11th best pitcher. Let’s chill on that.

Brown and Frey splitting his AB,s would’ve been more productive. If only to truly evaluate their abilities to hit good pitching.

It’s not like he is talking about a guy that is hitting .250 or better. He is talking about Paxton Kling. They both faced the same pitcher last night and Kling looked like Kling and Ruddell gave us flashbacks of Greg Deichmann. I think you still ride with Kling for now but it doesn’t hurt to get some other guys some sec at bats either.

It’s a bit of a head scratcher because when he relaxes and makes contact it’s an out right to someone and when he tries to be selective he gets nothing but strikes in of a different kind that he is looking for. There is not a real comparison to anything I’ve seen regarding an athlete with that many skills.

They seriously need to check his eyes.

Kling is basically a 1-strike AB. He takes a first strike and whiffs on the third (away as noted). That means he gets 1 real chance to win the battle.

And to be fair, he has hit two or three balls right into to the teeth of the wind that would ordinarily be HRs.
