I know he's still on the roster listed on lsusports.net but it would make sense that if he plans to enter the portal then he wouldn't get any playing time. I don't think I'm misremembering.
Maybe he planned to and didnt.

Or, he's redshirting since he didn't redshirt as a freshman.

If you're so sure you read it somewhere, feel free to link it.

Did you really have to respond in such a negative fashion? We need to help promote these kids so we may have them around a couple of years, not show our a.. when talking about them!!!! Ridiculous!

I agree with you as he was surely highly touted coming out of high school.

My main memory of him is that he left 2022 fall as the team’s leading hitter based on TD.com unofficial stats. That’s the year we won the natty. Kid obviously has talent.

That isn't quite right. He was mostly middle of the pack in hitting that fall when it was all said and done. He just really had a span of a few scrimmages that were really good that may stick in your head.

Believe it or not, Jack Merrifield was the leading hitter that fall when it comes to AVG and OBP.

Paul was in the dugout last night during the Grambling game wearing a warmup top, so it didn't look like there was any sort of plan for him to get PT.

I can't imagine he'd be hanging around during games if he was already in the portal

Hyperbole is so overdone on this board...but in this case you might be right.

I have never before seen a pitcher with a low 70s fastball vs LSU

but let’s not forget, they brought in a position player

So before throwing assumptions that the guy was a postion player lets know what we are talking about. If you watched the game last night and I mean actually watched it you would have seen when the guy came in and they showed his stats. He is not a position player he is a RHP with 18 appearances. He also pitched against LSU last year.

Brett Washington

But other note Ruddell hit HR and Neal struck out

Lol, he's been at LSU right at 2 years now, how much time is he needing to get to play in a game other than Grambling when they are up by 20?

Watched him play in h/s. He was good, but not elite. His playing time has not surprised me at all. I see him as one of those "showcase" guys that hits great bp, has a good arm, and can run. I think we are seeing that alot in Kling right now. Some guys are just different when it comes to live game.
