Here is a 7 minute compilation of transition passes from last season. The first pass of that highlight reel is more impressive than any of those Bird gifs

I can't believe this entire thread only has a single mention of Luka but dudes like CWebb and White Chocolate are being brought up.

A bounce pass to a guy that isn't even being defended?

Is this a serious response? Weber was a good passing big, but Jokic is an all time passer, regardless of position. It's not even remotely close. Jokic has double Weber's assist total per 36. The NBA has averaged 23.75 assists per game during Jokic's career. It averaged 22.5 assists per game during Weber's career. Don't think that makes up for the discrepancy.

I mean just watch this career passing compilation from chris weber. That's a nice 4 minute video that includes a whole bunch of simple assists.

Now watch these 2023 passes from Jokic. He has one per night that's as good as Weber's all time best

Watch this compilation. He's Bird, Magic, and Jason Williams all in one. He's insane.

In 2024 the NBA has an average of 228 points every game

In Webber's prime it ranged from 183 to 195 a huge difference

Jason Williams

the real best passer, and it's only by a hair over Pete Maravich...

as far as big men passers, Jokic is likely the best ever...

Yes, a one handed bounce pass from the other side of half court into the paint in between 2 defenders is more impressive than Bird making a no look pass or making a behind the back pass (both things that Jokic does at a hall of fame level.)

Sure thing. The Nuggets play next on May 4th. I guarantee you he will make some great transition passes then.

That's my criticism of Stockton. Stuffing the stat sheet by handing the ball off to Mailman for dunks. Give me Isiah Lord Thomas III.

As far as bigs, wasn't Walton really good?

yall just say anything. Bird and Magic played a decade together

And I watched that entire decade but neither of those guys was as consistently amazing with their passing as Luka and Jokic.

Luka and Jokic are easily on another level.

Cool, but this is about passing/assists, not scoring. The league average in assists per game has gone up by 1-1.5 in that time.

I think Kevin Love should get a mention purely because he does full court passes better than anyone I've seen.

But I think Jokic definitely has an argument for top 3 all-time with

I think Jason Williams had some great highlight reel passes, but I struggle to list him with the best because he threw a lot of dumb passes too.

I think Magic, LeBron, Stockton, Jokic, and Chris Paul are my top 5. With Nash, Big O, and Kidd right behind them.

It's pretty easy to tell who actually watches the NBA in these threads.

Jokic is definitely in the conversation for best passers in history, and he's so far ahead of all other big men that any statement like "probably" or "likely" the best passer for a big is idiotic.
