Anybody got some new pickups lately? Hobby thread on the OT got me thinking of this thread.

Should be a good week of mail for me this week.

The other day, in all places Dollar General had 2022 Donruss packs. I grabbed a couple with my son, $4.50 for two packs and some loose cards. We pulled a Rated Rookie Purdy and Press Proof Yellow Rated Rookie Purdy. Both in almost immaculate quality. We were very pleased.

Anyone have advice on grading/authenticating?

I have an autographed ticket stub and uncertain if I should get the stub graded and signature authenticated? Or just authenticated? It’s in really good condition and much better than what I see on eBay. So I think having it graded would be good.

Also, Should I get the signature graded as well?

Just sent off 20 items to be graded to PSA. I got a deal because i am a member of the PSA club. Imho if the ticket stub is in decent shape just send it off to get the autograph authentication done. If you don't mind be asking who is the autograph from? PSA is pretty damn strict on their grading. I had a couple cards grade low and saw nothing wrong with them.

1989 TROY AIKMAN SIGNED NFL DEBUT TICKET STUB. I’m seeing PSA 2 going for over $1k and mine is in much better condition. No creases.

Definitely get it authenticated and if you want get it graded also. If psa 2's are going for that then anything above a PSA 4 you should very well.

Thanks. Any suggestions on which company? I’ve never sent anything off before. I have two other cards I want to get graded.

Joe Namath rookie and Sandy Koufax rookie. Should I send them all in at once? Any benefit to that? Or other tips?

PSA is the best imho but i joined their annual membership plan(the cheapest one) and they give you discounts. I just recently started doing this because i have been collecting along time as a kid and picking up random stuff throughout the years. Depending on how fast you want the cards back will determine how much you are willing to pay. Just go to psa.com and it tells you everything you need to know about how to package and send them off. Not bad at all.

Just stumbled across this thread. I got a Paul Skenes Bowman Chrome auto PSA 9 a few weeks ago for $200 in an auction. I’m glad I got it then, because he has destroyed batters once he got promoted.

I haven't bought any new Skenes. At this point really waiting on his true rookie (with rookie logo) or a decent deal on an auto. Not a great time to buy imo with the big jump in prices.

Mainly been buying football since prices are down a bit in the offseason. Still haven't gotten time to take pics of my new stuff.

Why does this say "Trading Card" at the top instead of 1974 Topps?

Some kind of trickery?

I would think it’s just a reproduction of that card that they got Walton to sign. Just graded the Auto also.

The grade is for the autograph, not the card.

The card is not graded.
