missed it, but this is them putting Scottie in the car. The ESPN guy just said there was something said by Scottie that made the officer cuff him.

Apparently there was an accident involving a pedestrian fatality this morning. That caused a massive traffic backup, and something with Scottie trying to get around all of that is what led to whatever caused him to get arrested. His arrest is unrelated to the accident with the pedestrian.

Jeff Darlington was apparently right there when it happened. He says none of the officers even knew who Scheffler was. One officer who was writing notes had to ask Darlington who Scottie is.

Apparently Scottie was getting close to the front entrance and was trying to work around traffic to get there. An officer tried to stop him, placed his hand on Scottie’s car, and Scottie was still moving at a slow speed while the officer was touching the car. Officer got angry at that point and arrested him.
Sounds like a massive misunderstanding.
ETA: Scottie was also in an official PGA Championship courtesy car.
