Very rare to go all the way through to the franchise tag for a player that hits early

Only usually comes into play for a late blooming prospect, and in those cases it can actually bite you in the arse (Daniel jones)

Teams value the 5th year bigly

For QBs sure, but it’s a negligible difference for most positions

If they valued you them as much as you think they do, they would’nt have been giving them away for pennies last night. The value of those end of the round 1st rounders is directly tied to the QBs left in the draft and the teams who are itching to get them

Coleman kind of sucks as a prospect, especially paired with Allen McConkey is a good complimentary guy but he's hurt a lot Mitchell is going to flame the frick out more than likely.
Ahh ok

But 163 pound worthy and legette are sure things

Those guys are all comps and there wasn’t a consistent board at all on the best out of those 6 WRs

“With the 28th pick, the Bills select AD Mitchell”

You nor anyone else would have batted an eye. People would have said “solid pick”. And guess what? They now can still make that pick while adding capital

But I’m sure SFP and everyone else was calling these so wrong before last night……

3/4 with Ad Mitchell in the top 5 WRs

This made me laugh.
quote:

8. Atlanta Falcons: Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington
First F of the draft! What is going on in Atlanta? This pick makes absolutely no sense. The Falcons signed Kirk Cousins and are now drafting a six-year college starter to sit behind him for two years? What sense does that make? Penix isn't the cleanest prospect and he has injury concerns. We'll find out what this looks like when he sees the field in 2026 or 2027. Grade: F

quote:

12: Denver Broncos: Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
Quarterback thirst has officially gone too far. There’s simply no need for the Broncos to force this pick here. Nix does not have the profile of the QB who is going to save Denver. Bo Nix, Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham will battle it out this summer for the right to be the starter, but Nix is closer to being a backup in the NFL than a franchise starter. Grade: F

Coleman seems like the best DK Metcalf “we overthought it” candidate from the guys left. Testing poorly but dude is a dog on tape.

Not a lot of X WRs left but a ton of move and slot guys left so curious what the does to the top end of this round

I personally want Coleman. But I just think they are going Mitchell

Coleman never looked slow against LSU….

I like Mitchell bc half his tape is being wide open and having a kid with a mullet throw it into the 3rd row

Bowers at 13 was the best pick of the first round. This was already a league where athletic TE’s with good hands are huge difference makers, and that will be even more the case with the banning of the hip-drop tackle. Bowers is a freak. Good luck finding a player fast enough to cover him who can also bring him down effectively.

Bowers is awesome

But he wasn’t a freak in terms of actually measurements and testing. I don’t care about that stuff, but he isn’t a freak

Where did I say that?

I wasn't involved in the pissing match last night. Legette is a guy you can sell yourself on, but has one of the bigger red flags (no production until final year when he's a lot older than most of his competition).

Worthy wouldn't work for BUF as much as he will work for KC. BUF allowing KC to get a talent like that is the silly part.

quote:

“With the 28th pick, the Bills select AD Mitchell”

Gross. He's off a lot of teams' boards for a reason.

You just sold low on a WR for attitude issues. Why add the same issues without the legacy of production?

Or some teams just need more bodies, so the 5th year on one player isn't as important to them this year because they need 2 decent players for 4 years instead of 1 better player for 5.

Xavier Worthy, fasted 40-yard dash at NFL combine of all-time. Turns 21 years old today. That makes him 9 years younger than Tyreek Hill. This goin be fun.

His tape is the bigger issue. He can't get open.

Definitely not a bad year to trade back and take a WR. Pretty deep class. Even Corley I like a lot

AD was who I wanted for the Chiefs until I watched him working out side by side with Worthy, which isn't the best way to judge a guy with a huge size advantage, but I just couldn't get past how much worse AD's routes looked in comparison.

Thats all that matters. At pick 28 the bills had

Mitchell
Worthy
Legette
Pearsall
McConkey
Coleman

They had all those guys available. They were able to get a pick 38 spots better and then get an additional pick to still have options at 3 of the guys above. There is just no way anyone with any draft knowledge would say they didn’t play it well. There just wants pressing differences or clear separation in the group above. And if you want to be technical, the overall highest rated guy from above is actually still there

Once BT Jr was off the board but no other WRs went before the bills, the play for them was obvious

You’re not making that 5th year option sound very bigly important

The problem is targeting a WR, I reckon.

When you push a need-based projection onto that trade scenario, you lose any value you got with the trade down (which wasn't much, I don't believe).

And to the bills and likely a lot of other teams they still have that need there with the same ranking as before. They lost nothing
