I would have kept the stripes and said frick em. Since when can someone own the rights to a stripe combination?! It's a different shade of blue according to UH--there's no ownership right to a red-blue-red stripe.

Funny thing about Iowa.
My friend went to Southern Miss and you may recall USM changed their logo and Iowa sued because of its similarity to Iowa's.
My friend is a huge college football guy and couldn't believe it. How could anyone confuse the two!?!
We end going to the Michigan/Va Tech Sugar Bowl and he wears his USM fleece.
All these fans we walk by greet him and confuse him for an Iowa fan. He looks at me and says "we're fricked."

Things school specific. Most schools don’t mess with high schools as long as they aren’t selling confusing merchandise. And even then they sometimes just turn a blind eye (especially in their own state).

I’m 100% in favor of UH here, but from what I understand, trademarks are kind of a bitch. You have to defend them or else you run the risk of losing them altogether. I don’t think the Titans/NFL really care if they win as much as they have to show some effort to defend the trademark.

With most franchises, I'd agree with you. But the Adams family has shown time and again they're a bunch of petty assholes. Started with the old man, and the daughter seems to be a chip off the old block.

Both sides have good arguments. I just like the pettiness of the fight.
It's the University of Houston, on behalf of the City of Houston, giving the bird to the Adamses
And not to mention the Oilers unis are not even a regular NFL uni. Only last year, over 25 years since the franchise left Houston, did they decide to throw it out.
I hope this keeps up. They should do everything they can to pull the Oilers name and colors back to Houston.

As a titans fan, who gives a shite. Where what you want. I think it’s kinda cool. I’m a titans fan not an oilers fan and not really thrilled when we decide to wear those. They make look nice and belong to us but I just don’t like the move

most Titans fans I know feel the same. Titans have their own tradition, but a conceited owner with an ego gonna ego. The weirdo Adams family is practically trolling the city of Houston and I hope it backfires for them in court.
