League sources expect the Jazz and Pelicans to be aggressive in pursuing trades this summer with their mountains of picks. And the Thunder have more assets than anyone else, giving them the ability to trump just about any offer for any player.

It would be cool if the team name were on the block.

I always expect us to take calls. It’s about Griff actually pulling the trigger is what’s the issue

I think this year we are the team initiating the calls.

Yeah he’ll intiate but he’ll never overpay and always wants to win the deal. I think change is needed, even if you have to overpay to get the player you need to get you over the hump. Although, not getting Scoot helped us out in the long run- I think not getting Scoot really dejected this group. If they learn anything from that sometimes you have to overpay a bit to get what you want.

Presti is going to turn some of those picks and guys like Williams or Dort into superstar running mates for SGA. Meanwhile, Griff wasted 2 1st rounders getting us onto and off of Steven Adams.

Sounds like a perfect set up to have rumors referencing every big name star and do absolutely nothing.

My only problem with all that is it feels like we will wait for another teams interest. Instead of saying "we want ____ or ____ and be willing to pay the price, we will say "oh ___ wants BI, lets see what we can get". How about we just go get who the frick we need.

Because it takes two teams to trade. You cant just go to another team and say hey I want luka- now take all this stuff and give me luka. Trades dont work like this. You need to see the market, whats available, what other teams are looking for, how interested is the player coming to your team, fit, etc.

I think what's happened with the Suns, Lakers, and even Clippers being top heavy and losing (trade or just not being able to resign) depth and good role players will change an aging idea about "need" for multiple All NBA players. Helpful? Absolutely. Worth decimatimg depth? Maybe not.

Teams are going to be calling right now, and they will be offering trash.

Griffin will work the phones and get different offers, and things will go back and forth. What's being offered today is totally different than what is offered on draft week

I think once the lottery is done we will start to see more rumors ramping up

Teams like Detroit, Charlotte, Toronto, Brooklyn, Chicago, Houston and Sacramento will all be looking to make a big move with their picks IMO

I’m ngl I like the idea of sending BI to Detroit and getting Duren and their 1st round pick this year to get one of Sarr, Topic, Sheppard, Risacher. Outside of that the only other team you listed with intriguing assets who’s also looking to win now is Houston

Detroit is probably my favorite team aside from Atlanta

Ivey and Duren with their pick for BI, Nance and 21

Use the cap space created (20+ million) to go after Claxton, use the 30+ million TPE to go after a PG/shooter

Would Detroit even do that without us throwing in a future pick? I seriously doubt it
