Rattler is trash and won't start in the league. If he doesn't become an asset in the film room, he may end up being cut.

Do you expect a 5th round qb to be a nfl starter? I think in the 5th round taking a gamble on Rattler with his talent is great value.

You’re literally criticizing 5th and 6th round picks lol. Ford is a reach in the 5th round?? Some of you guys are a little silly in regards to expecting starting talent this late in the draft.

My grade is A. I am not a homer. Saints had great value for their selections. I think Saints add depth in multiple positions with 2 starters.

I’ll put it to you this way, if they draft like this for the next couple of years, they’ll be in a very good spot

B+. No reaches, no borrowing from next year's picks, addressed needs. No 3rd or 4th makes an A impossible.

That's where I'm at, too.

I would give A's to the individual picks, as they all seem to be good value with upside (lone exception to me might be the LB from Texas, but he seems like a ST lock).

But like you said, we're missing the meat of the draft. Most teams pick up starters in the 1st, often the 2nd. When you get a couple from the 3rd and 4th, is when you get an A.

Half the league is late round picks or UDFAs. You're dumb.

What?? You mean the shitty guys that change every year that make up the back end of the roster- guys 40-53??? What the frick are you talking about?

You think half the league is made up of 5th, 6th, 7th and undrafted free agents??? Are you serious??? You’re a fricking moron.

Thats not a bad way of looking at it. To me if you have 2-3 guys you drafted that make an impact on your team- I think you get an A. 2-3 guys that are impacting winning by making plays or starting is a great draft.

A. Not trading future draft picks alone should be an A.

Appreciate the sentiment, but no.

B+ to A

First draft in many years that didn’t leave me scratching my head for days.

Two of these guys pan out at positions of need and it’s a giant success.

If one of them turns out to be Rattler, it will be excellent.

Very optimistic post draft. It’s an unusual feeling.

6th?
Hell I'll believe it for now. The proof is in 3-4 years.

I give them a B+.

USA Today slammed them
27. New Orleans Saints (C)

First-round OT Taliese Fuaga (Oregon State) and second-round CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama) are good players at positions of need. Previous trades stripped the Saints of third- and fourth-rounders. And while a Round 5 spot spent on South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler isn’t hugely expensive, the team already had five quarterbacks on the roster if you also include Taysom Hill. Maybe Rattler’s a lottery ticket … and maybe a squad that seems to be falling behind in the NFC South should have prioritized other aspects of its depth chart.

I get what they are saying and they are not wrong……but ALL 5th rounders are borderline lottery tickets lol. I said earlier this thread that I am not big on the pick (or Rattler), but he does have some talent…..so I can at least see why they used the pick on him.

I don’t mind the rattler pick but I don’t quite see the arm talent that is sometimes talked about with him

I thought it was a pretty solid safe draft. Which is rare for the saints.
