Gotta b practical with what you have now :

LT: Andrus Peat (Resign 1-2 Year Deal).
LG: McCoy (Should Transition Well).
OC: Ruiz (Better Natural Position).
RG: Penning (Mauler in maul spot).
RT: Fuaga (Start Decade of Dominance).

Draft LT in next years draft.
Good young core.

Unpopular opinion

Peat isn’t a bad tackle he should’ve played his whole career there. He not great but Ive seen worse he better than bushrod 09 for example.

The Saints didn't move first rounder Peat from LT to guard because he was good at LT.

Let's not rewrite history. His whiff at guard got Brees injured.

I actually love Ruiz at C. To me he looks good when he fills in there

You could be right. Some creative thinking in the Saints organization is certainly needed. If the new oline coach can get Penning and a rookie to hold down the right side he's already won Asst. Coach of the year!

Had armstead and a great version of Ram already

I didn’t say he was good he’s not bad and he’s better at tackle.

Him being named to pro bowls was pure evil by the Nfl to run his price up and screw us im 100% convinced

No one here will argue that Peat at LT last year had his best games as a Saint.

Peat has always looked the best when played at LT, his position in college. Imagine that.

This is insanely dumb. Brees got sacked a number of times, but you’re going to hold it against one specific player because Brees got hurt?

Just a statement of fact. If thats dumb to you who cares. If I say he played his best in his career last year I'm not sure I'm holding all that much "against him" as you say. Insane

Why would they suddenly switch McCoy and Ruiz after 4 years? At this point, they've each played their current position longer than they played the other in college.

1. McCoy ain’t moving to guard. Word is he threw a bitch FIT when they drafted Ruiz who, in his own words, was “born to play center” and refused to move to accommodate it, which led to an awful transition that’s still decent at best

2. Penning’s problem is dealing with quickness so you’re going to put him inside, the quickest route to destroying your QB? Just don’t SEE it. Keep him outside when his athleticism gives him a fighting chance

New OL coach will have fresh slate with everyone.

If they do bring back Peat the team should have six starters to find five in Fugua, Ramczyk, Peat, Ruiz, McCoy, and Penning

Why would you move your best OL from the spot he’s excelled at and become a top 5 C at just because Ruiz played C in college. Ruiz has been paying RG 4 years now and got another contract to play RG although I see him as merely average. McCoy probably could move to LG and be ok but I’m not doing it simply because he’s a better player than Ruiz at CI would think it wise to bring Peat back in a 1 year deal but I wouldn’t pay more than $5 million to get him. You still give a penning every chance to to win the LT job, for some guys it just takes longer for the light to come on. If he fails you have Peat as a stopgap and then you let Saldiveri and Udoh battle for LG. I don’t see Penning as an option at G like most just assume he can k always move inside. It isn’t as easy as people make it out to be. Penning is a LT or bust. RT is in great shape even without Ramcyzk. Fuaga will be the day 1 starter there and Landon Young has proven his worth as a solid swing tackle .

By your rationale, Drew Brees ruined Deuce McAllisters knee with a sloppy and high pass on MNF against the Titans in 2007.
