The Saints didn't move first rounder Peat from LT to guard because he was good at LT.

Please correct yourself, the only reason Peat moved to guard is because Armstead was the starter at left tackle. Peat cannot play the right side at all, LT is his natural postion and last season when they moved him to LT the offensive line as a whole improved. He used to sub for Armstead and the O-Line never missed a beat, and he stayed healthy. Peat is a Good LT just not anywhere else...

Guys on the radio don’t think Peat is getting resigned. It’s gonna be Penning again at LT.

has always looked the best when played at LT, his position in college. Imagine that.

And here we are trying to move penning all over. Can we imagine that?

I actually love Ruiz at C. To me he looks good when he fills in there

McCoy is much better.

Ruiz is being paid what he's being paid because the front office didn't want to admit another mistake.

bushrod 09 for example.

How bad could bushrod have been if everything the Saints did worked that year? I’m pretty sure he was eventually a pro-bowler.

We have to have a better example than that during the Saints 57-year history. Lol

Penning’s problem is dealing with quickness so you’re going to put him inside, the quickest route to destroying your QB? Just don’t SEE it. Keep him outside when his athleticism gives him a fighting chance

You don't think NFL DEs/Edge rushers are quick? So you're going to put him on an island outside and say "block this guy without any help?" The Saints did that in the first game of the season last year. He made Arden Key look like Derrick Thomas. At least if he is inside he can have a bit more help.

Slow guys in a lot of open space vs quick guys is a BAD matchup. He may suck at guard too. But at least you can do more to help him there.

Why would they suddenly switch McCoy and Ruiz after 4 years? At this point, they've each played their current position longer than they played the other in college.

Doesn't only matter how long somewhere has played in a spot. See Peat, and me yelling for YEARS that he was not a right side guy, and not a natural guard, and they finally put him at LT where he should have been all along and he suddenly doesn't suck so bad.

Same with these guys, just because we are playing Ruiz out of position for years doesn't mean he doesn't play better as a center. Sometimes you have to stop out thinking yourself, like the idiots also did playing Vaccaro as a deep safety, or playing Brandon Browner ever.

By your rationale, Drew Brees ruined Deuce McAllisters knee with a sloppy and high pass on MNF against the Titans in 2007.

This is a statement of fact. But players can have bad moments, even ones that lead to others getting hurt, and even ending their careers.

Penning isn’t slow though, he’s an elite athlete.

Draft LT in next years draft. Good young core.

We really are right there on the o-line assuming Fuaga hits

Saints decision or his? Ive googled any news on Peat and i just saw Titans visit a month ago. Unless there is some hidden market for him he probably should if asked.

This seems like embracing a hard reset.

Just don’t see how you let Peat walk looking at the current OL.

Peat
???
McCoy
Ruiz
Fuaga

Is not a terrible line assuming one of the young guys or recently signed vets can fill in the ???

Take Peat away and plug in penning and it looks like a recipe for the worst OL in football

The Saints have gotten themselves into the position of Peat holding all the leverage. And they did it to themselves. So they either take a chance with the bench, make a trade or give Peat whatever he wants.

This post is very confusing and contradictory.

Lack of athleticism and bad technique are what’s making him a terrible tackle. It’s easier NOT harder to pass protect at guard compared to tackle. You have help on both sides, and you’re playing against bigger, slower players.

This is insanely dumb. Brees got sacked a number of times, but you’re going to hold it against one specific player because Brees got hurt?

Well, he hardly touched Aaron Donald on that play! So, yeah, I hold it against him.
