Listening to Russelo yesterday, it's apparent that only the Broncos (Payton) had a first round grade on Bo Nix. Payton could have easily traded down and gotten a high second round pick (maybe even another first) and still landed Nix, but his attitude was "frick it" - he wants to prove how smart he is.

So you think Russilo knows every teams grades? Come on.

He panicked. Thought Raiders were gonna take Nix.
I don't think they would have and he could have easily found a trade partner in the 20's who didn't need a QB
This isn't Madden. If you have a top grade on a QB, you do not take the chance of trading down just because some fan on a message board likes the idea.

Especially the play calling on the last drive in regulation before the no call. Didn't make the Rams burn any timeouts.

Saints Board : "OMG, Loomis is retarded.... I cant believe he would draft player x in x round... Sean Payton deserves better."

A few years later

Saints Board: "SP is so arrogant... look who he drafted in the first round"

Seems strange to still be fixated on CSP after all this time.

The wounds are deep for some I guess.

I believe SP to be an outstanding coach for the most part, but the more influence he got the worse were our drafts.

SPs own arrogance and impatience cost the Saints at least 2 more
SBs.His free agent signings were atrocious..How many FAs never contributed or fit the system did he sign, quite a few.

Payton or Allen....who are you taking? I know who I would go with. His arrogance won us way more games than it cost us and his balls to make the call in the SB won us our first title.

Payton proved he's garbage without an elite Drew Brees!

Just curious are Payton, his girlfriend, and best friend the ones down voting this?

Last year Payton won one more game than Dennis Allen. Payton had Russell Wilson at quarterback, who many in here were willing to give a blow job if Payton would have gotten him here. DA had jamies, Dalton and taysom. Where did his offensive genius go? Right the onside kick to start the season in a game he lost lmao

He went 12-4 with Taysom Hill and Winston as starters

2 yard passes and a cloud of dust! Nix only throws short passes. Wat hung the last few years of Brees throw 3 yard passes was so infuriating. Sean is so desperate to prove he’s the smartest man in the room made him pick an average qb that his legacy is now tied to forever. The confirmation bias was strong with this pick. Nix will be average and Peyton will never win anything at Denver in his 5 years left there.

They don't have a QB. It is the most important position on the field and if that was their guy than you don't play and take him with your first pick. These guys seem stupid

quote:

It's kind of the same shite that manifested itself here in smaller ways over and over again. Stupid challenges out of anger that were doomed to fail, trick plays that were too cute and failed, aggressive trades up and risky FA signings - future be damned.

Doubt we will have a coach as successful as him again. Btw one of those trick plays likely won us a Super bowl

quote:

Last year Sean started his first ever Broncos game with a surprise onside kick.. It failed, the Raiders scored on a short field, and the Broncos lost by a point.

Okay

quote:

As mediocre as DA is, I'm really glad we don't have this imbecile running our team anymore.

Imagine spending a 12th overall pick on a dude who wasn't ranked in the top 50 players by the majority of teams.

So a coach who is currently 22 all time in games won and 4th among active coaches with a Super bowl is a fricking imbecile, got it. Man some you guys are absolute morons.

Context matters.
Russell wilson was cooked by last year, not when everyone here was clamoring for him. The broncos played one of the hardest schedules in the league. The saints played one of the easiest. And DA did it with Carr, who played in all 17 games

Payton will likely have the last laugh. This
anti-Payton narrative has exceeded
reality.

Sean Payton's weakness was drafting.

Not to mention 5-0 with Teddy Bridgewater when Brees hurt his thumb in 2019. SP is arrogant arse, but the revisionist history by some on this board is embarrassing. He's been a hell of a good coach, even without Brees.

Not to mention Denver was 5-12 with Russell Wilson the year before Sean get there and immediately improved to 8-9. Payton is a great coach, BUT I agree his arrogance will be his downfall in Denver. Bo Nix is not an NFL starter.
