He thought he had Mahomes & that he was going to drop right in his lap until Chiefs jumped in front of him. After how that turned out I understand him being overly cautious on a QB he likes in the first round.

You should trust your own grades but being overconfident in your evaluations can be really damaging as well and I think Sean is speeding towards that.

Nothing about Nix suggests he’ll be anything more than a backup. Plus all the scrub Saints players he signed, he’s sticking to his guns TOO much imo

Yeah, Nix at 12 was probably too high, but given how QB's were going, if that's your guy you grab him.

You're delusional if you think that Nix would last past pick #50. The talk for months was that most if not all of those 6 guys would go in the first round and they did.

The two teams that liked him most, Denver and Atlanta, I think they had a mid second early third grade on him.

This in relation to Nix, Penix or Rattler?

Yeah man.. That was one those "That's a stupid dick move"..

I remember he traded up to get Antonio Pittman and cut him after camp... An UDFA beat him out... That UDFA was Pierre Thomas...

Between Sean’s milky way galaxy sized ego and hubris and Loomis’s false bravado it’s a wonder we had any recent success those last few years

He can’t, SP leaving confirmed SirW’s worst fears in that the Saints and NOLA are in the bottom tier of franchise and cities in the NFL. That destroys the OPs self esteem.

Not putting Allen anywhere near Paytons level but Sean had 3 consecutive 7-9 records with drew brees as quarterback. Allen has had two seasons here and his worst was 7-10 with jameis, Dalton, taysom and whatever other fricking scrub they had

Payton proved he's garbage without an elite Drew Brees!

I feel sorry for all their QB's. Payton doesn't develop QB's. He lucked out landing Brees, but not with R Wilson. He needs to hire an experienced QB coach off the Tree of Andy Reid, Shanahan, or McVay.

Agree with both. Payton is a good coach but his drafting sucks as evident by the Nix selection.

Wilson won more games under CSP in 23 than he did in 22 or 21.

Listening to Russelo yesterday, it's apparent that only the Broncos (Payton) had a first round grade on Bo Nix. Payton could have easily traded down and gotten a high second round pick (maybe even another first) and still landed Nix, but his attitude was "frick it" - he wants to prove how smart he is.

Doubtful. The Raiders were also looking for a QB but none were left for them.

it's true!!!!

and a great point.

There are also a bunch of mediocre teams in the league. Denver lost to the hapless Jets with Zach Wilson at QB and lost to the Redskins (both home games). Both of those games though, Russell Wilson had a costly turnover that either shifted the momentum or lost the game out right.

I think he'll do better in Pittsburgh honestly. But mainly because the Steelers are quietly building a good team. Payton is not. He's picking a QB because he has to.

Then why didn't Sean trade whatever needed to go up and get mahommes? He keeps saying how much he wanted him or some shite like that.

If that was his guy he probably learned a real lesson.

I would laugh my arse off if their QBs fail and Rattler has even a modicum of success
