Technology and innovation has destroyed thousands of professions over the years. Humans adapt and overcome.

Professions die. New professions develop.

I'm a forward thinking observer of technology, but I think this issue is vastly overstated.

AI is different. Past advancements increased human capability, like a lawn mower compared to a scythe. AI is just going to replace people. It's a disaster. Even worse, it will be vulnerable to hacking.

There is no way to make this prediction. I could just as easily argue that with so much manpower freed up, due to AI taking over tasks, that a human renaissance will take place.

The idea that anyone knows exactly what will happen is moronic. Sure, AI could ruin the world. But it also could be a huge boon to human existence.

I told you so.

ETA: I am all for hearing AI singing from Randy Travis. I hope he does well. This actually gives people another chance with what they love, if done right.

ETA: I never want to see a AI generated movie (unless it may be a clean cartoon for kids). I want real humans acting.

Hopefully AI takes over the dubbed movies/series on Netflix. Some stories are interesting but the voice-overs are so bad I can't watch them usually.

I turn off youtube vids that utilize AI voice.

The lack of warmth is painfully obvious.

Have you listened to the channel "There I Ruined It" on YT? Pretty good stuff.

The more technology advances, the more it sucks the soul out of people and culture. The Unabomber would have made a great President. Except for the fact that he liked to mail pipe bombs to people.

Do they sound like stupid robot voices?

AI is actually getting scary good at imitating real life people. Seriously, like terrifyingly good/accurate.

I use AI all the time. Our copywriters take too damn long and I can create usable content in seconds. Humans can edit it in much less time than it would have taken them to create it.

I'm all for this. It's difficult to find Audible audiobooks narrated with a pleasant, non-irrating/nasally voice.

Especially for non-fiction books, I dont need any fancy type of voice acting. Just a tone and pace that is easy to concentrate to.

Looking forward to “new” Valentino and Bogart movies.

Not me.

I think authenticity is going to show its worth in the face of this AI revolution.

I'm sorry your uncle touched you. There is help. Just don't go to a church for it.
