I'll throw my hometown in first.

Charleston WV.

"The magnificent 293- foot gold dome which tops the structure is five feet higher than the dome of the U.S. Capitol. The entire dome is gilded in 23 ½ karat gold leaf applied to the copper and lead roof in tiny 3 3/8 inch squares."

LA capitol in BR is #1 and everything else is a distant second. It’s unique, majestic, not a copy of the DC capitol.

The interior is a geologist’s dream

Arkansas's is modeled after the White House.
I’m too lazy to look for pictures from the inside.

It is definitely a very unique building for sure. The architecture and design is amazing in such detail. Many times we pass over the statues and the artwork. I know I did my whole life. But when I actually started studying that building it blew my mind the level of detail.

That Connecticut Capitol is awesome. The Hawaii Capitol building may be the worse from that article. Looks like a library.

You don't go to Hawaii for the architecture though.

Sorry, Louisiana haters. This is one area where we are cooler than everyone else.

I present to you Huey Long’s phallus:

I said the exact same thing when I saw it this past Sunday. First time I've been by there in a few years. It looks awful.

All state capitols illustrations

Interesting to see this. The shortest state capitol is North Carolina at only 35' tall. Comparatively, the tallest state capitol is Louisiana at 450' tall. Crazy that 12 of NC buildings can stand on top of each other and still not reach the top of LA building. The oldest belongs to Maryland, which is surprising. I thought it would have been Massachusetts.

Arkansas’s is also helped by perfect placement. When they built the current capitol building, they nailed the location for having good views of it from several places around the city.

It appears they are pressure washing it now. You can see the scaffolding on the back side of the building where they are currently working.
