They're everywhere. Billboards, Youtube, Facebook, Roku city scrolling screensaver thing, pron sites. But, how often do you see an ad and are like, "frick it, i'll try shite".

If it has to advertise, it likely isn’t the best quality, ISO.

That may not be completely true in all situations, but it has served Scruffy well so far.

I ordered $107 worth of bioluminescent petunias tonight. I’d say I’m somewhat susceptible

Almost never. I'm more likely not to buy something because the add is so stupid.

Zero

I can’t think of the last thing I bought bc of some celebrity that was the face of whatever product it is.

I actively try not to watch the ads anyway or skip them if at all possible

I don't have/watch broadcast TV, mute ads on streaming services, and ignore and skip ads on YouTube.

I honestly couldn't even tell you what stuff is popular/for sale right now

When I see ads on YouTube it actually makes me not want to buy whatever the product is because it’s delaying the video I want to watch. I now pay for premium bc it was getting to be too much

I buy the opposite. If you’re going to interrupt whatever I’m trying to watch, I’m interrupting your ability to make money. And I’m sick of TV shows “paying some bills” or paid services interrupt stream. We PAY to watch the damn channel / service. I’m not buying anything that wants me to pay for another damn thing. They got enough damn money and they can go broke as far as I’m concerned. I grew up with one damn TV channel and I’ll be happy to send it back to that. I hate commercials. They serve no purpose.

Facebook ads work on me. Usually showing what I’ve been searching for because the bastards spy on us. The video/pictures of things very well targeted to what I’ve been looking for are informative.

I hear ya, but my brain is basically hardwired at this point to ignore ads, because I am so used to the flashy attention whoring shite on the top, bottom, and side of the screen. Like, on THIS site, I know there are ads around where I am posting and shite, but just tune them out. I know they are there, but couldn't tell you what the frick they are trying to sell. Ads are just fillers for the web page I am on pretty much......... I am getting banned now aren't I....

The only ads I still pay attention to are the ones that still come in the mail. I’ll admit that the Burger King and Subway coupons are the only ones catching my attention.

I ate a bunch of different kinds of cereal and other things I saw on tv when I was a kid because my parents got it for me because I thought it would be good, but back then we thought what we saw was good because it was on tv.

Advertising isn’t new to folks anymore. But name recognition never hurts when applied to shoppers.

I know what marketing costs. The bigger the media the greater the cost advertising there. Advertising expenses for new brands and products can easily outweigh development and manufacturing cost. A heavy ad presence is always a negative factor for me because heavily advertised products tend be overpriced for their quality and utility. I look at products that are unnecessarily visible as things to avoid.

I get drawn in to a gadget on Facebook on occasion. I am a sucker for gadgets at times.

Ads likely affect younger people or in situations where it’s a completely new type of product, once you’ve settled on what you use daily in life you tend to buy the same stuff over and over again because it’s what you’re used to buying.
