I’m due for my upgrade and I’m considering switching from AT & T wireless. Specifically, to Verizon considering the good deals they have for new customers for new iPhones, iPads, etc.

Has anyone done this? Happy? Regret it?

I switched to Verizon. So much better. Especially with the wifi hotspot

I also have family in the reserves and the military makes them switch to Verizon fwiw

Avoid Verizon at all cost. They used to have signal everywhere but they turned it off apparently. Their customer service is the worst. I had VZ from ‘98 (CenturyTel) (then it turned into Alltel) (then it turned into Verizon) to ‘21 and switched to ATT. My phone works anywhere I go now.
If you hate ATT look at T-Mobile.

I recently switch to get an upgraded iPhone. Was with ATT for 10+ years. Still have the fiber though. Verizon isn’t a noticeable difference for me in performance or service.

I left AT&T for one reason. Whenever there is a big storm/hurricane AT&T loses service. Everyone I knew with Verizon kept service. That’s why I switched and I haven’t lost service even 1 time in a few years time. I am in the BR area.

Verizon is a lot better than AT&T, especially if you’re in the BR area.

I'm on FirstNet (AT&T) and couldn't be happier.

I switched to Verizon. Service is better in my area but customer service is just as bad.

I upgraded phones and the tracking number never showed leaving their warehouse. Took me 3 weeks of talking to their customer service to get a new phone. I told them my 2 year old provides better customer service than any of the idiots I talked to.

Finally went to the Verizon store to get it resolved and was there for 3 hours. Thought I got it resolved until a couple months later I got hit with an early upgrade fee. Fought another 3 months to get that off my bill. Never got the full amount credited but it got to where it took up so much time talking to someone and explaining the whole situation I gave up.

I've had Verizon for many years, ZERO problems in any way, shape or fashion, ever!

You must have an issue with your phone. I've had Verizon for 20 plus years and have never been anywhere (other than on a cruise ship) and lost signal. AT&T is crap. Even worst, I bet you work for AT&T to make such a bogus claim.

ATT are thieves and crooks.. dont feel like getting into the weeds right now on exactly what went down, but they recently fricked up my billing , told me that THEIR mistake was irreversible, and it cost me hundreds of dollars .. i spent many hours at various ATT stores and on the phone with their “customer care” to no avail.. only takeaway is i will never do business with them again in any situation … I say all that to say that i just upgraded from a 12 to a 15 ( i highly recommend buying from the Apple Store if you can, they were very helpful) and am getting ready to switch carriers soon .

Did it a year ago. Best decision. Way better performance and response to any issues.

I will never understand why people pay for the big companies when you can get on their network for 1/4 the cost with something like mint mobile/ visible or spectrum mobile

I literally pay $30 a month for 2 phones with unlimited data on spectrum mobile and run off Verizon towers

T-Mobile has the best network right now. Of course it all depends on where you are.

I've been with ATT since 2000(cingular) and I can tell you with 100% certainty that there are dead spots along 61 between BR and Natchez and along I-10 between BR and Nola that had complete coverage 5+ years ago. I believe it has to do with turning off 3g signals. It's affected every carrier.

Same. I pay 30 a month for two plans with Optimum and it’s less than 70 a month total with financing 2 brand new iPhones rolled into the bill. Service is as goood as anyone else’s anywhere I go from what I can tell.

Tell me about Mint Mobile.. like, explain it to me like im McDonald’s Happy Meal eating age…. Im only mid 40s, but not the most tech savvy.. do i need to cancel my ATT service first ? Since Mint has no brick & mortars im aware of, do i go on their website and sign up, does it seamlessly move my service to them ? I want to tell ATT to eat shite, but i dont want to frick myself in the process .

Go to their website and make sure your stuff is compatible. You probably have to have your phone paid off. Pick a plan and they will send you what you need to switch then call AT&T and tell them to eat dirt

ETA: their customer service is super easy to get ahold of too. You can call and ask whatever questions you have about switching and they would help answer if you don't know what to do

That’s what I’m hoping for. In the BR area also. Go to north La for work a few times a year. But no coverage works well there.

Switched from ATT to Verizon about 8 years ago ... been happy ever since. Never have I called customerservice and gotten anyone that didn't obviously speak English natively, couldn't say that for the former.
