I’m west of Tomball and we had a pretty large oak come down on the back of the property, but thankfully not on the house. Meanwhile the 6 dead trees from last years drought and all still standing.

Damn my car is in Houston on the street while I'm on vacation in Florida. Hope it didn't get destroyed.

Anyone know how it was near Dunlavy and Gray St?

I have collision and liability insurance on the car but neglected the one for flooding, hail, etc. Just never experienced a car getting damage except from wrecks, not nature. Guess I'm gonna have to stage the damage like it was a wreck if there is damage. Gonna be nervous pulling up Saturday.

42% of Harris county has no power. WTF? That's hurricane level.

if you have full coverage none of that except maybe flooding should be excluded in Texas. You are good I bet.

Just found out radar in our area clocked 121 mph winds.

I knew they had to be high to take those trees down like they did from the root.

It was bad for about 35 minutes, truly major hurricane level bad. Trees down everywhere, my wife ended up in the basement of our country club bc trees were snapping and the weather flipped from nice to pitch black and insane like a light switch. This is in the memorial area.

Well, you're texting, so it can't be that bad. Oh Heavens, he saw a tree crew!

You’re right it’s not that bad after charging my phone on the remaining battery of my laptop and sitting here without power.
It’s not bad but not great.

were at the batting cages warming up for a hitting session when the power went out. Had to wait like 14 minutes to reboot the pitching machines. #Houston Strong

Hopefully that won't keep Braydyn and Jaxxyn from getting a juco scholarship.

Technically maybe but it was easily 75-100 mile an hour winds to knock 2 trees over 100 feet tall from the root lifting a portion of driveway. The soil wasn't even saturated yet.
I was at a stoplight when the winds started. They came out of nowhere all of a sudden. It was literally like a hurricane outside, and that’s not hyperbole. Trees were bent over with the constant wind, and there were strong gusts of wind. Rain was hitting the windshield with a force I’ve never seen before. It was unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like it except during a hurricane. Flood water in the streets, debris everywhere, downed trees, power out everywhere for homes, businesses, stoplights, etc. It was literally like a brief hurricane out there yesterday.

I'm at my Fiancé's house in Harris County inside the Loop and trees down on the house and car.

This definitely sucks. Back in 2020 we had a microburst in my neighborhood and while my house wasn't damaged a tree fell on the wife's (no pics) and my cars and totalled them both at the same time.

Not a pleasant day

Yep totally agree it was like a mini hurricane here in Cypress at Fry and 290. Wind more fierce than Harvey and sheets of rain while in it. Each time i thought it would slow, then bang!, a new gust and round of wind.

I watched the wind change from W to N to E as it rolled by. Crazy event.
