Spent the day around the house since the kids had practice and work so no hunting today.



Fried backstrap, smothered potatoes and Buffalo trace. Thin cut fried chicken for the wife since she doesn't eat deer.

I've never done it. As a kid, dad would cut up hindquarters to use in sauce piquant and have eaten it as a roast. All my hindquarters go to sausage now.

It’s a Flame Genie from Home Depot. It’s not bad. It burns wood pellets so there isn’t any smoke. One fill will burn for 45 minutes to an hour. For $250 and $5 pellet bags it’s easy
