Attorney General Jeff Landry will travel to Florida to receive Donald Trump’s blessing in this year’s gubernatorial campaign, according to the Landry campaign.

“We are very excited about it,” said a Landry spokesperson.

Our last Republican running against JBE was heavily endorsed by Trump. It didn’t work out very well.

I believe that brain surgeon's platform was dead in the water when he insulted metro New Orleans (i.e. Jefferson, St. Tammany, St. Bernard, St. John, and Plaquemines). I've never seen a candidate commit political suicide before until that race.

Jeff Landry built up a lot of positive political capital with me on his fight against JBE and Biden on COVID mandates and his lawsuit against big tech and federal government censorship.

The 3 trump Festivals in Louisiana won JBE the second term.

So you're saying you need more than a Trump endorsement? You actually have to be a good political candidate?

If so on both accounts, makes sense.

Perfect example for you lunes who think we blindly follow Trump, or if his endorsements don’t win he is losing influence.

I’m as MAGA as can be. Ride or die with Trump. I will not vote for Landry.

What’s wrong with Nelson?

Not enough of a stooge?

Curious, as to why?

I think Landry’s idea is to get Trump to help beat other Republicans so that a Democrat makes the runoff and then gamble on winning that.

If Nelson or Graves makes the runoff against Landry then Landry is toast.

Nelson has no money or name recognition. His tax plan would abolish ITEP, so the big money GOP donors want nothing to do with him. The pharmacist lobby, alcohol lobby, the sheriffs, the preachers, and LSU/Southern hate him for his medical marijuana plan. The teachers union hates him for supporting school choice. He’s made enemies of the entire political money class

Did Jeff explain how importing Mexican welders and undercutting American blue collar workers fits into the MAGA agenda?

Rispone was a good man, a good administrator, and had good values.

He wasn’t a good politician or campaigner.
He wouldn’t have gotten to first base if he wasn’t spending millions of his own dollars.
