Anyone else find this disturbing?
Anyone arrested for/convicted for behaviors later legalized should have their records automatically expunged. Forcing people to pay thousands of dollars for expungements is predatory, imo. It’s another way our legal system criminalizes poverty....

Until you exchange consideration (some sort of payment or physical good), a handshake deal is really just a handshake. Until the parties actually exchange something of value or sign something, they’re still basically haggling.
That’s why so many places ask for a deposit upfront. The deposit serve...

I got a particularly nasty case of covid in 2021 that put me in the hospital. Very nearly died. Dropped from 190lbs down to around 170 in like a month or two. Dropped from a 36 to a 34. Kept that weight off.
Had a bad breakup last year. Largely stopped eating, had to stop drinking because I wasn’...

What are republicans doing in states they control right now? Attempting to ban contraceptives (not just outlaw abortion), cracking down on marijuana even as the federal government reschedules it, and engaging in meaningless culture war bullshite while jobs continue to disappear and our currency is in...

If I was trying to convince middle class voters not to vote for a republican, I would just show them the priorities of Louisiana’s supermajority republican legislature. The democrats have been a party of failed economics. The republicans have no interest in reversing any of that and only care about ...

re: When did you hit mid life crisis

It must be fun to have money during a mid life crisis.
I was flat broke after my divorce. The only things I bought were some cheap guitar pedals from an estate sale and a ps4 off of a Livingston parish meth head.
I was also flat broke a few years later after a near death experience. All I did ...

re: What are your hobbies
Posted by kingbob on 5/14/24 at 12:54 pm
My biggest hobby is music. Besides just attending frequent concerts (often multiple concerts in a week), I also play in multiple local bands and write a lot of music. I would consider myself a semi-professional musician. If I decided to give up my day job and go music full time, I could probably sup...

When the future seems out of reach, you celebrate the present. So many people have lost all faith and meaning in their lives. All that is left to them is social media acclaim and empty consumption....
