Top it off with an extremely over regulated business and housing environment and it becomes suffocating. Natural resources out the wahzoo but socially corrupt.

Weather and natural beauty are the only reasons.

Unique job opportunities. Vast holdings. That’s about it.

Family, friends… you know little things like roots. Having a business, enjoying the weather, the food, the outdoors…

Those are my reasons.

The people there elect piece of shite politicians and people like the LA DA.

Sure there are some good people there. They are outnumbered by leftist loons though.

Not even enough to live on in desirable areas especially safe neighborhoods near the coast.

I lived in Santa Maria for about 8 years. Santa Maria is a small town, on the coast, about 1/2 way between LA and SF. I loved it. People were very conservative and friendly. Weather was great and it was quite beautiful.

Of course politics of the urban centers was the biggest downside and finally forced me here to SLC. Even though I loved it there, I would never go back. Now, west coasters have flocked here are ruining this place. I do not think I will make it to the end of the year before heading somewhere else.

Just moved to Utah and chose North Ogden up by the mountain.

No bums. No pride march. No crime. No traffic.

Never had any problems where I went in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa. Never even saw any crime. Downtown LA, sure, but hell, downtown Houston and LA are horrendous too. Some of y'all really need to get out in the world to really see the world.
