Isn’t this the school the Biden administration is trying to shut down?...
re: What is the absolute Earliest the SC gets this?
Trump can bypass appeal courts and go straight to SCOTUS. But they probably will wait to see how the court rules on the immunity case. If court rules in favor of immunity, all this goes away. Personally, I go straight to SCOTUS if immunity fails.
Immunity doesn’t impact this case ...
unless the NY Supreme Court hears it first
The highest court in NY is the Court of Appeals. In NY the trial level courts are called “Supreme Court.” A lot of people are getting confused by this....

Take what? They aren’t taking this until the NY appellate courts have passed on it. Come on people....
re: How large will the post-conviction bounce be for Trump?

Truth is, no one knows. We’ll have to see how it plays out. If none of the other trials move forward before Election Day, and all they have to go on is this NY foolishness, then there is a reasonable chance that it is a non-issue by the time the Fall comes around. But I don’t know, and neither does...

LOL, in NY the “Supreme Court” is the trial level court. The bottom rung of the judicial system. The Court of Appeals is the highest court—equivalent to the Louisiana Supreme Court....

All you people realize that you can do a Google search to learn who is really on the NY Court of Appeals, right?...

You sure about that? The Court of Appeals is the state’s highest court.
ETA: Downvote away if you like, but these people aren’t on the NY Court of Appeals. ...

Don’t know, but I’m sure they will try to hamstring the campaign. Apparently, most of the people convicted under this have received no jail time. And in cases like this I think it is common that the sentence doesn’t start pending appeal, which wou probably be well post election.
I don’t know wh...

There isn’t enough space in this format to do all the reversible error justice. If you’re really interested (which I doubt) go read the articles and X postings of Jonathan Turley, the GWU law professor.
And I also think this case has the same error that the NY Court of Appeal found when it rever...
re: Surrounded by Incompetent people
Posted by SloaneRanger on 5/30/24 at 5:33 pm
The way the judge ran this trial and instructed the jury made this a forgone conclusion. No set of lawyers would have obtained a different result. They were hamstrung at every turn by the judge. Hopefully they made their record for appeal.
FWIW, I have always been critical of Trump for not using ...
