Suni Lee has been battling multiple kidney issues and she was 100% for this competition.
Looks like Suni's doctors finally have her on a medication regimen that will keep her symptoms under control. Hopefully that will continue to be the case. I remember reading that this time a year...
Saving Private Ryan is a really good one. My two favorites though are Midway (Heston version), even though I hate the stupid sub-plot of the romance between his son and the Jap gal. I like how it shows the story from both sides, and also shows how the battle was a game of inches and last minute ...

I was listening to Notorious BIG's Going Back to Cali the other day and this in the intro made me laugh... Come on now it's a quarter to six we got the 7:30 flight. Waking up at 5:45 to make a 7:30 out of JFK......

The Blue Angels in IMAX

Posted by PJinAtl on 5/19/24 at 11:40 am
Went to see the Blue Angels documentary yesterday at the local Regal IMAX. It is a really well done film and covers a lot of things I never would have even thought about (candidate selection, why they don't wear g-suits, the roles of the various pilots). It's a great documentary to see at home when ...

No documentary that I know of. Closest thing to on is the first part of his Tales from Margaritavision video collection (you can find it on YouTube). It includes a profile that was recorded on him in the late 70s/early 80s. Also, all of his other books other than Pirate Looks at 50 were fiction.....
Emmylou collaborated with a lot of Nashville artists in the 70's. She was close with Gram Parsons of the Byrds, and that helped her get in with the country scene. Even though it was "fringe" Nashville, it was still Nashville.
That was the conclusion I came to as well. Although I wasn...

John Denver vs. Emmylou Harris

Posted by PJinAtl on 5/9/24 at 9:33 am
I was thinking about this over the weekend and decided I would bring it to the music board for your opinions. How/why is/was Emmylou Harris more accepted in Nashville and country music than John Denver was? Both came out of the folk scene in the late 60s/early 70s. Both put out their first well k...
I almost feel bad telling this one, because the girl ended up having some major health problems in middle age and then died from complications of COVID.
