Just drove 40 today in a uHaul. From Amarillo to ABQ. The road is great in Texas, then turns to shite at the border. The right lane is considerably worse than the left in a lot of spots.
No major potholes, just a bunch of terrible patching....

Most rental companies have check-ins online now. If you do that you can skip the line and go straight to your car. I have used it with Avis, Alamo, and I think Budget....

I wish it was as easy as snapping a finger and it be done.
We are currently in the process of moving to Utah. 1700 miles with 2 kids and 4 dogs isn't going to be that fun.
A small price to pay to get out of Louisiana, however....
