re: Bozeman, MT "layover" ideas

I don't have a personal recommendation for a guide up that way unfortunately. I have a home/boat on Hebgen Lake just north of west Yellowstone so my usual spots for hunting and fishing are in the Madison valley between West Yellowstone and Ennis. ...
If you want a nice blend of adventure and luxury, I would look at Belize. Do a few nights at Copal Tree Lodge in the south. Will give you the rain forest, monkeys, and the best food and drink you can find. They grow their own food, make their own rum and chocolate. Then quick little single engin...
Lay on beach in luxury or adventure and locals? Want perfect or something that ingrained with the countries culture? Or some sort of blend of this?...

Lot of food and drink in Bozeman. Go get some at MAP and also Montains Walking. If you want to get out of town, Big Sky is a bit south. If you want more of a small mountain town feel, go south west to Ennis which is like an hour away. If you are there in two and half weeks, come fish with us jus...

If you have time, book a short Devour tour. I hate tours with a passion, but these are run by residents and take you to a neighborhood into the smallest local places. Great way to get the feel of a neighborhood and meet some really cool locals. A couple months ago when I was there, we ended up la...

I went for the first time last year. Please rent a Bermi from Localmotion instead of a scooter. Roads and tight and people drive crazy. Plus the Bermi is a side by side with enough room in the back for a couple bags. Bermuda honestly wasn't my favorite. It didn't really have it's own food sce...
It has fantastic glass and sounds like a good fit for your use. The end. I hunt out west off of horseback at longer distances, so I use more robust (at least in my mind) NF optics. That's the only reason I could see getting something different....

re: San Juan, PR for a weekend trip?

Posted by TheNolaClap on 2/14/24 at 2:26 pm
I think you will want a bit more, but I would still choose the 2 full days over the keys (without knowing if you mean key west or Marathon or wherever). If you do go to San Juan, spend the money and eat at Marmalade. My wife and I still talk about that as one of the best meals we've ever had....

I mean honestly you don't go to the keys for the beach quality. The water is better further into the keys as well. If beach and water is the main thing, maybe you'll be better off going into the Caribbean. ...
