Open up flounder to recreational fishermen year-round. Keep it closed during fall migration for commercial fishermen.
Or at least set a reduced recreational limit during October-November....

Have you tried a conibear 120 in the end of a pipe? The good thing with those is you can still bait with a fish but you can submerge the whole thing if you know where he is coming from a pond/ditch....

$170k/1000 days = $170/night
That’s with 67k miles, so presumably 150-180 days of 8-hour drives.
Over twelve years, that is a lot. Roughly 2.75 of those 12 years living out of the camper (averaged).
I would think many are lucky to get...

Yes, looks like galvanic corrosion from dissimilar metals.
Remove, clean up, and have someone weld in an NPT collar, use an aluminum plug.
If that will take too long, remove and put a stainless steel version of the same type of plug.
Do you have bottom paint on this boat?...

Even if you’re drifting, you’re under way.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a warden wrote a ticket while you’re anchored out though. ...

It can kill any iron-eating bacteria that’s found in some wells. Typical “clear iron” wells may have a filamentous brown “algae” that starts to form in the lines which show up in toilets, tank bowls, etc.

If you’re borrowing the gun it may be worth going shoot a few clays with it to get comfortable (and make sure it cycles if semi-auto). If it can cycle cheap #8 low brass you’ll be good with steel shot.

Usually the knees have two shoots running parallel to the ground around the actual knee. If you use a sawzall with a 6-9” wood cutting blade you can usually cut around all sides of the knee and pull the whole knee out of the ground. You may have to cut at a 45 degree angle to “eat out” below the act...

Go get a Ryobi hand vacuum for $30 and designate that for Asian beatles. It will not smell great when running but you won’t ruin your vacuum cleaner. It has a flap so they can’t crawl back out. They typically don’t leave a mark when you suck them up.

Absolutely. I’ve said it here before but I’ve inquired biologists at the ramp who were running hull nets. They were dismayed to only have caught 2-3 specks in their gill net within a mile of the launch. I was thinking: no sht, salinity is at 0.5ppt and the water is dirty as hell.

You might want to try Manchac pass. Cut shad or mullet on the bottom. Probably need 3-4oz weights. Fish any drop offs and near the train tracks. I think there’s a hole that goes from 30-90’. You might catch a striper or redfish as a bonus.
