Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff received a verbal commitment Wednesday afternoon from 2020 athlete Kris Draine from Spanish Fort, AL.

Draine's verbal pledge comes just a few days after he visited LSU last weekend. He is LSU's only commitment for the class of 2020.

If his commitment holds, HC Dave Aranda will decide if he plays offense or defense. Aranda will be heading into his second season as HC by then, so should have a handle on making LSU nationally televantvonce again.

Well, I am damn glad to see this young man commit to play for the tigers. I can't wait to watch him run out of that tunnel on a cool crip fall night and wreck some opponents' asses. Congrats on your decision, Kris Draine! You'll never regret playing for the Tigers!

So what school does he commit to in 2020?.....

I wish these kids would wait and stop all this commiting 3 and 4 times to different schools. If you continue talking to other schools and coaches and taking visits you are not committed. 2020 is just too far away to take seriously.

Agreed. Hope this commitment stick but it’s so far out and Bama or Auburn haven’t offered him yet

Wasn't Dylan Moses along with a ton of other 4-5 stars early commitments? What a joke celebrating this!

I think Shaquille O'Neal was committed in something like the 7th grade...he turned out not to be all that much of a joke.

Whai whai whai... Bunch of cry babies in here. If early commits don't work out at LSU how do you think it works for the rest of the country? You people act as though this only happens to LSU. This is what early commits do for your program, it creates momentum, keeps you in the spotlight and let's every kid know that LSU is still a premier football program. If LSU is caught not recruiting others bc of early commits, which is the most absurd comment bc this isn't remotely true, but if they were then that's on them. Congrats young man and I hope you honor this commitment.

Downvote away, but this is starting to look like Bama's recruiting strategy. Get some recruit to commit so we'll let up recruiting others, a la Surtain causing O to ignore other top recruits at the position. Then, presto-chango, NSD comes, they choose Bama and O is left standing around with his dick in his hand. "DERP! We meant to leave spots open!"

The decommitment will be disappointing, but I'm in while he's in.

Can't wait for him to decommit in a year, thank the LSU staff, say LSU is still high on his list, but he committed too early in the process.
