He was a beast at NC State. But Marcus Davenport and Payton Turner also happened under him.

He’s been taking some interviews this week. If he doesn’t get one this cycle he would get one in short order. He’s had a good run turning around the falcons defense

I have read that Sark does have his guy, and based on no announcement, I assume it is someone in the NFL still playing.
But maybe that has changed too..

Orgeron tried to get him to LSU as DC when Nielsen was the DL coach for saints but Peyton got pissed and made him co DC I believe or upped his salary. Can’t remember details but he put a stop to him going to Baton Rouge

Orgeron interviewed Nielsen without asking Payton for permission to interview a member of his staff, which is a professional courtesy. After Orgeron sent Ponamsky to leak to the media that Nielsen had been hired as LSU DC, Payton got pissed and invoked a clause in Nielsen’s contract which required him to stay with the Saints. Nielsen also got a raise and Asst HC title.

You pretty much had it right. The whole thing was embarrassing for LSU football and Coach O, especially since it came on the heels of Marcus Freeman turning down the job at the last minute, and O admitting that he never actually interviewed Pelini before hiring him.

He is the dc of the jaguars now. Payton stopped a lot of his staff from leaving for promotions surprised people still wanna work for him especially with his gay lover Kenny Chesney out there fielding punts
