I’m pretty sure the call wasn’t even just a straight up QB draw. I believe he was supposed to read the d’s reaction and throw it to the back in motion if the defense bit on the draw, he just panicked after the bad snap. I don’t think it was a terrible call, it was just horribly executed.

And I don’t want Rees as our OC, but that was an execution failure not a play calling failure.

Seems like Rees has to be under consideration. No reason not to hire someone in the meantime, unless you're considering hiring someone from a playoff team. Especially if planning on hiring internally.

Speaking of playoff teams, what about Ryan Grubb at Washington?

Yes, the one where Michigan had clearly sold out to stop the run. If you call any kind of bootleg, you probably have a back or tight end standing in the endzone with no one within 5 yards of him.
