When LSU hired Saban for 1.2 million, people locally thought they were crazy for giving him that type of money back then.

Is it possible for a CFB team to go bankrupt?

bullshite. LSU went cheap with Orgeron so they could pay for elite coordinators. The market will get reset if Aranda gets 3m so LSU needs to hold on to him. I am all for just promoting him to head coach and tell Orgeron he is back to line coach or can leave. Nobody else wants O as a head coach.

Why is it unsustainable? The tv contracts for CFB are massive. Donors and boosters are willing to put up money. This is inevitable and will only continue. A HC will make 10 mill in next five years.

The cable bubble is going to burst within the next decade amd if A&M doesn't win, I have no idea if the boosters are going to be interested throwing this type of money around

Joe Dean himself said LSU was crazy, that he could get Saban "cheaper than that".

I do think the TV revenue bubble will pop at some point due to cord cutting, a la carte programming or something. But, as long as rich boosters/donors are willing to pay, this is not going to stop.
