Not sure if this has been posted:

Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu boasted in a Tuesday conference call with military personnel that Russian forces had gained 403sq km since the beginning of the year. The Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think tank, put the figure at 305sq km since January 1, and a total of 505sq km – five times the size of Paris – since Russian forces went on the offensive in October.

East Baton Rouge Parush
Area
• Total
470 sq mi (1,200 km2)

So since October of 2023, Russia has conquered an area LESS than half the size of East Baton Rouge Parish in five months.

Wow

Who are you calling ignorant, you dumbass?

You have kids? Ship them over to Ukraine, let them be cannon fodder.

Or better yet, just tote yourself over there. They’d be more than happy to issue you a rifle, provided they all haven’t been sold on the black market.

Or do you not have the balls to do it?

We just got out of 20ish years in Afghanistan, lost a lot of good people there. Same with Iraq, but we still have troops dying there.

Let Europe stand up for themselves, they’ve been counting on us to bail them out while they keep making the same stupid mistakes.

Blinkin and Austin are fine.

Blinkin gets his arse handed to him every time he deals with the Chinese. He is batting a thousand in the Middle East isn't he? LOL.

And the only thing Mr. Affirmative Action Loyd Austin is good at is interjecting wokeness into every aspect of the military. That is his mission.

I have kids and no I don’t wxx as n’t them to go to Ukraine. I don’t wsnt any American kids to go.

But that isn’t what’s happening. The US and other nations are sending weapons and money to help Ukraine defend themselves. The better they do the less chance Russia will chance a larger war.

Doing nothing for a nation we promised to help defend itself is bad policy.

ISW Update

quote:

Key Takeaways:

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and Ukrainian forces reportedly conducted one of the largest series of drone strikes against military facilities within Russia, targeting at least four Russian airbases, on the night of April 4 to 5.

The recently intensified tempo of Russian offensive operations in Ukraine will likely result in increased manpower and materiel losses, but the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) appears to be successfully mitigating these losses.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal indicated that Ukraine is starting to staff new units, but that Ukraine needs further Western military assistance to properly equip them.

Shmyhal also reported that Russian missile and drone strikes have damaged or disrupted roughly 80 percent of electricity generation at Ukrainian thermal power plants (TPPs) in recent weeks, as Russian forces continue to exploit the degraded Ukrainian air defense umbrella in an effort to collapse Ukraine’s energy grid.

Ukrainian officials continue to warn that Russian forces are systematically and increasingly using chemical weapons and other likely-banned chemical substances in Ukraine.

An unattributed drone reportedly struck a military unit in the pro-Russian Moldovan breakaway republic of Transnistria on April 5 amidst an assessed ongoing Kremlin hybrid operation aimed at destabilizing Moldova from within.

Russia reportedly has conducted thousands of cyber-attacks against Czechia’s rail transport infrastructure and that of other European states as part of a broader effort to degrade NATO members’ transport logistics since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Avdiivka amidst ongoing positional fighting along the entire line of contact on April 5.

Russia’s defense industry continues to mobilize to meet the Russian military’s needs in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on April 4 that Russia will open two youth centers aimed at indoctrinating Ukrainian youth into Russian culture and historical narratives in occupied Zaporizhia and Kherson Oblasts in the near future.

Last Spring you guys had Ukraine and their shiny Leopard tanks splitting Russian forces and driving to Sea of Azov.

What's the new plan?

This is a cripple fight.

While fighting the most advanced weapons, tech, and intel the western world can throw at them, I agree its pretty impressive.

Oh wait, or is it the obsolete stuff we gave them, and then did something with the 112 billion dollars.

Which is it? Either way we are now talking about pissing another 60 billion down this 200 billion hole and watch them lose another chunk of their country and most of the population.

Face it, Russia is methodically taking more and more territory, which happens when your focus is on stealing, not actually winning a war.

Do you honestly believe Ukraine has the latest and greatest, and big bad Russia is at a disadvantage?

We gave them some good stuff, but not the best stuff. Besides whatever we gave them is not yearly what Russia had when the war started.

You need to face it. You come on here and act as if Russia has conquered a lot of territory when the facts are they have taken an area about half of EBR Parish in some great offense. Think about it, an area from Bayou Manchac north to a Harding Blvd line.

In two months they might reach Baker.

Wow

let's just let Russia and China take over the world. It'll be fine.

If we have learned anything that can’t be the case, especially China. Maybe the Whitehouse can also come to terms with that, especially when it comes to China.

It's actually due to shell hunger because Mendacious Mike is afraid to put Ukraine aid up for a vote because he knows it will pass.

Here's a newsflash: the rest of the world doesn't necessarily view everything through the lense of race or religion. I know that's hard for you to understand

I’d love to see their KIA per Sq Mile Gained. I’m sure it’s unfathomable to an American.

Roughly 1000 per sq km or in the neighborhood of 2500 per sq mile. So Russia would have lost 2500 to capture LSU's main campus if say 1950 buildings were there and a lot of open space

But Ukraine’s forces are done and Russia is advancing with a record setting pace according to Colt and Sir Dumbass Winston and Limp Weiner.
