Heading to Denver in a couple of weeks and looking for a couple bar, lunch, and dinner recommendations.

Already on the possibilities list include Dead and Co., Barcelona Wine Bar, Rioja, Linger, Tavernetta, and The Woods.

If you don’t mind driving 20 minutes you should really hit up The Fort in Morrison. Float to red rocks

It’s fricking great. Great atmosphere too

I’ve heard buckhorn exchange is good too. One of the oldest restaurants in Denver I think

Don’t sleep on the flat iron with red chimichurri sauce at The Range. It’s inside the Renaissance hotel downtown.

Tall guy with the bald head working the lobby bar makes a hell of an old fashioned.

I personally don't care for Buckhorn Exchange, but you might like it. The meat quality and taste were disappointing. The Fort and Gold Hill Inn are better. Check out the Lite Brite bar at Linger. Cherry Cricket is a safe bet.

Safta is very good, basically a Saba clone.

Thanks for the recommendations! First trip away from the kids for my wife and I in quite a while.

This place looked fun but was unsure of the food. Would it be better to just sit at the bar?

Tavernetta looked like quality Italian.

ETA: Safta looks great too but I live in New Orleans and it appears to be a clone of Shaya/Saba.

Union Station

Next door to there, the fried chicken sliders at the Thirsty Lion are pretty darn tasty.

Yeah, no point in going to Safta if you live in New Orleans, but it is very good.

We eat at El Five every time we're in Denver. Everything we've had there is great and it has an awesome atmosphere. I get the seafood paella and kill the whole thing every time.

Ship Tavern in the brown palace hotel is a pretty cool spot. Good prime rib sandwich. Kind of upscale-ish old school pub atmosphere.

Any thoughts on Barcelona Wine Bar? Looks like a fun spot to casually eat/drink before heading to our Red Rocks show.
