I figured his coming back might not be the cause of the problems, but possibly a reaction to them -- in other words, if the marriage is on the rocks, anyway, why not play more football? But, if this new news is real, why can't she just wait two more months for the thing to end?

She's a woman, does it have to make sense? I mean it isn't like she made her money building rockets.

Of course it is. People spouting the narrative that they're getting divorced because of football are idiots. He ran back to football because his marriage sucks and he didn't want to be in that household all day long.
