Yes, and I think that has a lot to do with a decrease in injuries.

Interesting that if Nick would have kicked the EP that second time, they would have won the game in regulation.

Our guys punched them in the face from start to finish.
On Bama's opening drive, LSU looked a little surprised by how nasty and physical Bama could be.

But, our players responded, "OK, let's play." After that, bodies were flying on both sides.

What a game.

Overlooked:

Young’s street ball INT in the end zone on their opening drive. I looked at my buddy and said, “That’s as good as scoring a TD.” Set the tone and got the crowd into the game.

And who was the near side WR on that play that was absolutely blocking his man into the benches

Check out Thomas Jr owning Ricks on the sideline

Some quietly good games: I thought Foucha made a lot of good plays, Baskerville was really disruptive with pressure and Emory Jones made some nice blocks.

Yeah, and interesting that if you had any self worth you wouldn't be so envious of people who are happy that you had to try to rain on the parade with "What Ifs".

This is something you just don’t see against Alabama. They ALWAYS control the LOS. Massive win in the trenches.

They had a couple of rough plays but our bookend tackles that are true freshmen, holding their own for 95% of the game against the Bama front.

These guys are true freshmen.

I don’t have any idea wtf you are talking about.
I’m making fun of little Nicky and his supposed genius.
When he did it I thought it was stupid, and it backfired.

Not if we go for two and make it after the TD pass to Taylor. With the score 23-22 we surely would have.

True. I realize that a different result changes everything that happens after. I just loved that he made it so we didn’t have to go for 2.

Wasn't it him that was the spy that play, and he rushed in to get hands in BY's face that led to the INT?

Still don’t understand why teams go for 2 so early in the game. Those additional points could of been the game winner for Bama in regulation.

Your comment assumes that everything else in the game would have played out the exact same way. If Saban had gone for one after their 1st and 2nd TDs, the score nearing the end of regulation would have been 24-23 and Bama would have been driving for the game-winning FG instead of a game-tying FG. Coach Kelly and Coach House might have called completely different defensive plays knowing that a FG would have beaten them instead of a FG pushing the game into OT. There's no guarantee Bama even gets that attempt at a late FG if they had made the earlier extra points. Plus, if Bama had taken the lead at the end, LSU certainly wouldn't have kneeled down at the end (to play for OT). You can't just tack on a point or two and assume that's how the game would have played out. Each decision earlier in the game alters all subsequent decisions later in a game of football.

Imagine how super effective this defense would be with Maason Smith teeing it off every play. Holding bama to FG's on that last first half drive & opening drive second half was the first time in years our defense didn't give up 14 points . Five FG's total. That is unreal...
