Contact several funeral homes now and talk prices. Specify no makeup, no viewing, no casket. And find a vase with a lid for the ashes (the ones some funeral homes have are awful looking and wretched expensive. )

Sounds like the old broad probably needed to reevaluate herself as a human being much earlier and this ex was likely the only person she had to count on to do anything.
