For you baseball nerds out there: what is the advantage of hitting it to the opposite side? Is it a timing thing to help with off speed stuff and fastballs?

Opens the whole field. Smash it where it is instead of where you want the pitch to be.

I never thought a RH hitter could make RF look small like White has
His doubles that way show it almost as much as the homers. They look like he’s just flipping a base hit into right and then all you see is the RF with his back to the infield and the ball bouncing off the wall.

Correct. Crews looks like he’s in complete control at the plate. Like he’s seeing everything in slow motion.

Guy is generational. And I don’t say that a lot.

It’s hard to not slice the ball as a RH hitting that way. He has it down Pat. Ball just flies out

it really just means you are seeing the ball really well more than anything. A good hitter’s approach is always middle away.

He's definitely trolling at this point. It he ever does turn on one to the pull side the ball may explode

He'll need to adjust tho as good SEC pitchers will eat him alive. Bust him inside a couple of times then bounce curveball.

He’s had 35 at bats with 18 strikeouts so he’s put a maximum of 17 balls in play

As I’ve said all year so far. Dylan crews is the best player to ever put on an lsu jersey. He’s done it since he stepped on campus against far better competition than some of the others he’s been compared to. He is a generational talent. The entire game looks easy to him.

White is so strong and gets so much barrel on it he limits the slice spin to the opposite field.

I mean yes he is strong but that’s not why it doesn’t slice. It has to do with his hands and his bat angle.

Which is what I said in different terms. You’re describing what happens I'm giving the reasons why it happens.

Yea but BBCOR bats are pretty tame, more to do with a larger sample size and facing much better pitching. Just wanted to provide some perspective.
