I made the mistake of watching twitch streams so I already know how the main story goes.

For that reason, I made a decision to start heavily with side quests to see everything that is out there.

I’m ready to start progressing the MSQ though.

I can’t get off the damn Legacy and I’m getting pissed. Most frustrating part so far.

All legendary items roll the three bonus traits or whatnot. You can even savescum and keep reloading until you get the bonuses you want.

The gear I got from the Mantis quest is just...ridiculous. Turns my dude invisible when I kneel and stay still. I find it hard to believe I'll find something to top that. Stats would need to be out of this world amazing.

ETA: Also, slight spoiler: if you use the Mantis ship sometimes "bad guys" will flee when they see you.

I just came across my first bug that had any actual effect on anything, and I feel like everyone will come across this so I have to mention it.

Describing what happened requires some slight spoilers about one companion, so if you don't want anything spoiled for you AT ALL, scroll on.

When you are doing Sarah's companion quest, she will eventually ask you to take her to a planet to find out what happened to her former crew. MAKE SURE SHE IS "ASSIGNED" TO YOUR CREW ON YOUR SHIP! I had a quest-breaking bug and had to do the entire thing over again.

That might not be the only thing I did to fix it. I also unassigned her from my crew, assigned her back, tried to ask another companion to join me, left orbit and landed again, etc etc etc.

I recommend saving often when you hit this planet. At some point she will "stop following you," and if she later ends up on the ship before she is following you again then you have experienced the bug, will end up getting stuck and unable to move if you try to continue the quest, and will need to go back to an earlier save to fix it.

I got off the Legacy and the space battle is probably 100 times harder. Oooof.

So I had no idea what you were talking about, but I just picked up a random magazine and it says ballistic weapons now permanently do 5% more damage!

So I finished the MSQ and started NG+. For those of you that are ignoring the MSQ and doing all the side stuff, I highly....HIGHLY...recommend you stop and go through the MSQ and finish it, assuming you have the gear to do so.

im gonna second this notion. if you even remotely think you might want to do ng+ you might want to consider mainlining the main quest line first. there are story reasons to do ng+ . the mechanics can hit you hard if you're not expecting the ramifications of ng+ though.

I recently picked up an Aegis ship from the Deimos staryard.

I tried my hand at the ship creation process, but all I effectively did was tack on some extra cargo hold space.

I need to keep grinding out better ship upgrade parts so I can really trick this thing out.

Right there with you on grinding some levels and grinding the requirements for the next level of ship stuff.

Saving a captured B and C class instead of selling so I can eventually have a couple of choices depending on the usual who, what, where I am planning.

I think I may revert back to a save prior to purchasing the c class ship and shopping around to see what options are available. I was wrapping up last night when I made that initial purchase and I think there might be a better ‘starter’ ship that I can then tweak to my preferred specs.

I’m also under the impression that you can probably swap around ship components to get an ideal interior setup as well. I really want to have some work benches and a research lab.
Also, ALL the cargo hold space.

I searched a couple of websites and compiled an excel spreadsheet of all known magazine locations and then sorted by Star Systems/Planets.

When I head to a system for a mission, I take a quick look to see if I’m gonna be anywhere near the mag and go get it if I a close.

Lol, if someone tells me how to post it somewhere on here and remain spoiler free, I would be happy to do so.

I have an A and B, working on C license, but from what I read, A works with A, B works with B and C works with all..

Just a heads up for ship collectors, you can only have 10 ships so if you like to steal/pirate ships be sure to have an open slot or you won't be able to keep your prize.

I was just getting ready to end my night last night when I saw a ship coming down nearby. It was a pretty big one so I started imagining what I might be able to trade or loot from it. I was at the landing bay before it even opened, but when it did there were a good half-dozen Crimson Fleet goons waiting there. One frantic firefight later and I'm looting them (they never made it out of their bay).

The problem was that the ship wasn't something I've skilled into yet (so at least a Class B). When I tried to enter the ship it said "Inaccessible" (first time I've seen that).

Oh well, back to being StarUber and shuttling people around for quick credits and exps.
