I always remembered how Patricia Belcher from 'Bones' played a Southern woman and I would cringe every time she would say 'Cher'.

She says it at :42 in this clip.
Says it again at 1:04

In Cajun French, it’s a lot different. Our cher is pronounced “sha” with a short “a”

Ruth in Ozark was perfect Arky.

Costner and Keanu are bad at most things, so no surprise there.

Worst for me was Patrick Swayze in North and South.

Was he even doing an accent in that?

One that sticks out to me, is Double Jeopardy. There was a whole NOLA thing towards the end of the movie, and the accents were terrible. Some of the worst I've heard.

double jeopardy and JFK have some absolutely horrible New Orleans accents

DJ at least has the built in out that the guy is pretending to be from New Orleans but he would never be welcomed into New Orleans high society. It is such a flaw in that movie

There are some pretty bad ones listed already, but Stephen Amell in Heels is pretty bad, even though I really like the show.

Kevin Costner or Joe Pesci in JFK were both pretty bad.

As far as good? Josh Brolin in No Country For Old Men was pretty good.

The Southern accent is closest to a British accent than any other American accent.

The entire cast of True Blood

Yeah, that was a shitshow; they were all terrible and all totally different from one another. The best out of that bad lot was the guy who played the fake Cajun in the first season.

I can't think of a movie or show that got N. O. correct.

True Detective season one and three got it right, from almost everybody on the entire show…it was actually strange how good it was.

I get asked if I’m British occasionally.
