How much are you taking? I used to only take 5g/day but the last few months bumped it up to 9.

I’m taking 10g. I did 20g during loading. I weigh 220.

Creatine used to tear up my stomach, then I ran across this recommendation that solved it: Drink it as a tea. The hot water makes it dissolve better.

I heat up about 4oz of water and dissolve the creatine, then add a splash of something with enough flavor to make it palatable

Aubie Spr96, I have the same kind and usually add to my coffee. Not sure if that helps. I do plan to get Creapure when I finish this bag though.

if mono tears your stomach up, try HCL or the malate version

green mag/green bulge by Controlled labs or SNS Creatine HCL

Is it safe to take more than 5? Every one I have seen is 5g per serving.

I just learned a few months ago that it’s weight dependent. That makes sense but everyone always said 5g so I never thought about it.

Did the prices ever come back down to normal?

I am also trying to increase strength at 70 years old and have kinda hit a wall. What do you think of creatine at this age?

I will be 70 in a few months and creatine (and exercise and decent diet) is working for me - I'm maintaining my weight while losing fat and adding muscle - I also walk for an hour every day and lift light/moderate weights every 3rd day - 3 sets of 5 upper body exercises 25 repetitions each - slowly increasing the weight to avoid injury - 2-3 pounds/month - I also work on my core a few days a week to maintain balance.

perfectly safe. 5g will eventually fully saturate the muscle but not gonna hurt anything to do 8-10g

I'm turning 50 this year. I work out 5 days a week but have recently gone back to lifting heavy. I'll admit, I've been getting tempted to get into my son's creatine and protein powder regime.

One of my major goals is weight loss, though (because I mountain bike and weight matters when you're pedaling your fatass up a hill), and I worry about the extra water weight from creatine. I guess I just need to get more strict on diet to combat that.

FYI: 6'1" and 204.

I'm 43 6'2 now 196#. Lost 10# in the past month with strict diet and dumbbells. I was worried a few weeks ago that starting creatine would make me bloated but it hasn't and I'm still losing fat.

I'm not qualified to give medical advice but I did read dozens of medical doctors' opinions on creatine before I started taking it - none said don't and the majority advised that everyone - male and female - over the age of adolescence should take it daily.

I never experienced any water weight gains - maybe due to walking an hour every day in FL - makes staying just nominally hydrated challenging.

My physical conditioning regimen also improves my mental "attitude" for lack of a better word. Actuarial tables indicate I am either in, or soon will enter, the last decade of life - I want to optimize the remaining time.

I use the cheap Six Star brand from Walmart. When I first started I noticed an energy level increase, maybe from the taurine in it. I think I’ve gotten acclimated though.

Never had any stomach issues with it, but my stomach is kind of bullet proof anyway.

Would moving to something that has creapure make a noticeable difference from a performance perspective?

I’m 66 and I am currently in the process of body recomposition and I’ve been having really good success with that. I do bro splits every day and rest when I feel like I need it or if I’m traveling and can’t work out.

I decided to start using creatine after listening to Andrew Huberman interview Andy Galpin and he recommended that everyone take it every day whether you’re working out or not but that it would help increase your lean muscle mass.

I had already come a long way before starting so I don’t know if it made a difference or not but after listening to a Huberman YT on supplements one of the side effects he noted with creatine is an increase in male pattern baldness.

I still have all my hair although quite possibly may be thinning in some places and I certainly don’t want to exacerbate that so I figured I can get along without the creatine.

And that’s where I am right now.

I use the Walmart Equate brand creatine - may try creapure at some point.
