Because there were several ways to handle that situation. Probably should have ran once more and then called the TO. Or could’ve kicked on 3rd in case of bad snap. Or could have tried to kneel and center the kick. Etc.
And I think BK was thinking arky might let us score to get the ball back so was calling TOs to get everyone on the same page.

It was kinda sloppy but not Les miles level clock mismanagement

My man it was 100 percent in Les miles territory. BK either 1 lost track of our time outs. 2. Can’t coach the team well enough to not score or 3. Had no clue how much time he can run off the clock.

Frankly none of those are good for us paying him 10M a year to lack such easy detail.

I could forgive it if we had 1 timeout left and we had a big play and scramble down or something like that but we were in complete control and command. We had no reason to blow the last time out.

The way I see it, there was only one acceptable way to handle the situation, assuming our kicking unit is not a trainwreck, which it isn't. After the first down, let the play clock run to nearly zero, then kneel it. If you need Daniels to get it to a preferred spot for the kicker (e.g., dead center), then he can do that. Run 40 secs off playclock and kneel it again. Do this on 2nd and 3rd down. You can use one of your three timeouts to get everyone organized to execute on this plan and make sure everyone is on same page (lets say you do this after the first down), and you use another of your two remaining timeout on 0:01 for the kick. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

To me, this was the play. I was disappointed to not see it, but to say that it was severely misplaced is focusing on a couple worst case scenario type results without also taking the alternative's negative possibilities into account as well.

Every decision has a possible negative outcome. Then it becomes a zero sum game, and you pick the decision that has the lowest probability for a catastrophic outcome.

Kicking off isn't nearly the gamble it used to be since they moved the ball up.

This. It wasn’t what it should have been. The first timeout was fine if it was to set up the offense for the close. Using the second one when they did was the issue. Save that one and you have one in your back pocket in case something is off at the end and you need to change personnel, save yourself from a delay, etc. Having that 2nd TO would have allowed them to run the ball on 3rd down, take it down to 3-4 seconds and call the last one.

A little blame should also go to Daniels at the end for being a little jumpy and not bleeding the clock a bit before letting the ball fly out the back. As experienced as he is, he could have achieved the same result of us ending the game with a kick there.

It wasn’t the end of the world and it wasn’t the complete disaster some of you really want it to be for your own reasons, but the end should have been handled better.

This issue illustrates the biggest problem with this board- binary thinking. There’s no nuance. No shades of gray. Everything is either a complete disaster or better than it really is/was. In reality, the majority of things are neither, but somewhere in between.
