The evidence is abundantly and inarguably established that the planet has been greening for decades, thanks in part to tree-planting initiatives.

Of course, climate cultists say it won't stop climate change and will actually make things worse.

I have never seen anything claiming it would make it worse but it is not keeping pace with the deforestation. What you are calling greening is the slowing pace of deforestation which and an uptick in TREE COVER over the last 50 or so years. Tree cover and forestation are not equivalent. I can plant a yard full of bradford pear trees and no one would call it a forest. The canopy cover is equivalent BUT the ground cover is fundamentally different. Yes, there are more trees but less acreage of forests and forests, not trees, are where carbon goes to die.

Anybody remember these nut balls?

I want to mourn the old growth trees, and tell them we love them

These idiots just do what they’re told. They don’t think or actually try to improve anything.

If the climate warriors really gave a shite about Mother Gaia, they'd be marching in the streets demanding massive levies and tariffs on Chinese and Indian made goods until those countries complied with our emission standards. You know, the massive polluters on an industrial scale. But, except for easily manipulated simpletons like the posters on here who shill for everything "green", they don't care about the climate, the environment, or furry little animals. Climate posturing is just a means to destroy America, not maintain some mythical climate balance.

Also, I have yet to hear one of the greenies explain how covering up tens of thousands of acres of green space with environmentally damaging solar panels that provide almost no power makes a lick of sense.

I’m all about more trees and not cutting down every patch of forest to build another strip mall. I hate seeing the sprawl.

Kinda like how some think they are doing their part saving the children by making tranny threads on the OT to rage about pedos in.

So I married into a family that has planted over 2.5 million trees, they harvest every year and replant. Great way to make a ton of money for a family estate.

Anyway, fun fact, the earth is greener now than maybe anytime in history bc the plants have an abundance of food. The trees grow faster which is a hindrance bc the growth rings are so far apart compared to old growth which leads to more boards with crowns and the woods isn’t as straight.

Tip to the baws that buy their wood from Lowe’s and Home Depot, get the wood with the smallest growth rings.

Apply one dose of DOT project or a simple spritz of housing development and the work of an entire county or parish of squirrels is wiped out. Man is absolutely deforesting the planet faster than nature and man combined can replace those trees.

Interestingly enough, and coincidentally, I was just listening to a podcast that mentioned that researchers believe that 9 out of 10 black walnut and hickory trees were planted by squirrels. Black walnut, hickory, butternut, pecan, and to a lesser extent oaks are all trees that are dispersed that way. Pretty interesting.

Currently 415 ppm CO2. Plants die at 150-200 ppm.

415 ppm is 0.0415%
200 ppm is 0.02%

Largest mass of CO2 using life is marine phytoplankton/algae.

The US is actually increasing forest land and reducing farm land, so it is happening.

Eh… dumbfricks are trying to plant trees which don’t belong in the areas where they are planting.

They were trying to plant trees in south Florida but decided against palm trees in favor of something else. Problem is most other trees get fricking destroyed by hurricane force winds that south Florida regularly sees, but palms tend to hold up better.

Ehhh....it takes all kinds, and there is a long, varied list of trees that are native to Florida.

Better yet why aren't climate alarmists promoting the use of fertilizer across all lands to get nature's co2 scrubbers to grow faster and thus process at a faster rate?

I’ve been a global warming skeptic for over 30 years, and I’ve read very widely on the subject. I’ve also made fortunes in everything discussed below, except for nuclear and batteries.

The answer to your question is No, planting trees is not an answer to the global warming problem if it exists.

Extra CO2 in the atmosphere causes more plant growth. Planting trees for that is bringing coal to Newcastle - it would not result in significantly more greenery or less CO2. The greening will happen whether or not you plant trees.

If they are right about global warming (I believe they are probably correct that man is causing more global warming, but they are radically wrong about how much) what they should do is:
- More carbon capture and sequestration (not direct CC, though)
- Slow down on solar and wind. They are good for a small percentage of power but not reliable enough for more without storage capability
- Stop deploying batteries for storage. They are not advanced enough. Spend on battery technology, not deployment.
- Invest heavily in nuclear
- Greatly expand natural gas and LNG production to replace coal fired plants.
- Expand hydrogen production from natural gas and from water. Use this to replace the natural gas that replaces coal.

Because they don't actually do anything but tell others what they need to do.
